  • I just got this yesterday, hooked up the DVI cable inyo my graphics card, turned both the computer and the monitor on and I get "No DVI Signal". <<< Why would that be? Both my computer and Monitor are working fine except I still can't get a signal regardless of the monitor being hooked up properly...!!

  • thinking about buying this but i need a longer dvi cable what type of dvi cable to i need? i have a ati radeon 6970 thanks

  • Just for reference to people looking here:

The contrast ratio IS 1000:1, same as most good quality monitors these days. The 20,000:1 number they give is dynamic contrast. The problem with dynamic is that there's no standard for measuring it, so companies can put whatever number they want, from 10,000 - 1,000,000. What you should be looking for as actual reference is the static ratio, which is generally 500-1000.

  • OMG i used to have the space theme wallpaper you have when i was like 8 years old...it just gave me an ubber deja-vu

  • how whould i get sound if i did not want to use the built in speakers for xbox ??? plzz TB

  • @Ryogen your channel is hidden and i don't see your room in any videos... shh.

  • @zulok1337 As I look around my room... A lot of pictures of me, some hats, cd's, kinda basic. Nothing wrong for a person to have a nerdy room, I just like to call it out. My channel won't tell nothing about my room though. I will say this, I do like this monitor, brought it a few months ago.

  • I'm thinking about buying a few of these, they're only $179.99 on Newegg which is really cheap for what you're getting.

  • Got a question: Is this monitor fast enough for Ego Shooters (Reaction Time?)

  • @AgainstSpoilers Well, it's about the same as any HDTV, so it should be fine...

  • @risingfallen1

Ok, so you got the monitor for your PS3? Whats it like, is it worth buying? are the black levels good?

  • @craigyt1 Its been working perfectly for me but i might buy a tv for ps3 so i can use headset the black levels are good

  • @risingfallen1

If you use the PS3 VGA cable I'm sure you can use your headset, thats what I do with my Xbox, I have it connected a monitor via vga cable. So do you reccomend this monitor then because I may buy it tomorrow

  • @craigyt1 Ps3 doesnt have vga. but for xbox user this is a perfect choice highly recommended

  • @risingfallen1

I'm sure you can buy a VGA cable for the PS3 look on Amazon or Play, so should I definatly buy it, suitable for hardcore gamers?

  • @craigyt1 Well i am hardcore gamer and been working for me perfectly for a year now.

  • @risingfallen1

  • @Venix91 i plug my headphones in the back audio in port but it dosen't work?

  • Did you ever manage to get that Splendid sticker off of the front bottom edge? It's like that thing is welded onto mine. :)

  • does the blue power light from the Asus become distracting? is the light too bright? Cause I kinda get distracted by those things , otherwise, i want this monitor.

  • @BIGDADDYF50 to tell the truth i never really noticed it till now :-) lol but no it is no distracting even with all other lights off

  • @BIGDADDYF50 I just got this monitor and personally I do think that that blue light is a bit annoying, but it is fixed easily as I just putted small piece of note paper (glue on the back) on top of the light and problem solved.

Considering the price, this i a great monitor!

  • @pxhza im watching this video with the monitor lolzzz

  • @TotalGameMaster me too hahah

  • Hi, great video! Does this screen support fast changing between inputs (is there a button for going between DVI/HDMI if two devices are both connected to the screen).

  • @pxhza yes , the button to the left of the power button cycles through DVI-HDMI-VGA and yes you can have more then one device connected. Thank You & Please Subscribe :-)

  • Curious..is this monitor VESA compliment? Meaning..can it be mounted on a universal monitor stand? Thanks!

  • @MrSixFive yes it is VESA Compliant : standard 100mm

  • I bought the VH242S yesterday, is the same as this but without DVI-D. Pretty cool, Im using it as a second monitor.

I Highly recommend it because is really really cheaper (my other 24" monitor was like 540$) and well, some high backlight but you don't notice it when working.

My monitor came too blue, spyder 2 to the rescue ;)

    Great video.

  • @Foxandxss lol. hope it works out for you,, and thanks

    Please Subscribe..

  • well it is obviously a great monitor (especially when you consider its price) but I want to know if you have experienced any problems with that, let's say after a month of usage. Because as you've might have heard as well, there's this infamous problem of flickering and people say that it occurs after a couple of months. I'm interested in buying one of these, so it would be good if you could share your experience.

  • @youmayfcukthebride well i have had the monitor for almost three months now and use it about 4-6 hours a day give or take.. and i have yet to experience any problems what so ever. i absolutely love this monitor,, the best one i have owned to date. ,, i should be quite i don't want to make my Acer;s Jealous. :-) Subscribe and Thumbs up please.

  • do u recommend this monitor or the asus vw246h? i dont get why ppl like this monitor when the other one has a 2ms response time and is basically the same thing...

  • @xnakurax i do recommended this monitor , second the new 2ms monitors are a different form factor, are much more expensive, and the 2ms GTG, there is not difference, basically the monitor has the ability to go from Gray to a color then back to gray again in 2ms, but that happens almost never, what happens is a pixel goes from one color to a other, and that takes 5ms. there absolutely no difference. this monitor has a 2ms GTG it only says it on monitors as a trick, ask Asus. Subscribe :-)

  • @Venix91 oh ok, aha im getting the vw one one :D it has tracefree technology :D this one doesnt..

  • Hey mind Telling me What camera You have? THANKS!

  • @ComeToRejectCity Sony DSC w290

    check out video on it

  • very nice monitor !

  • @DeutscherRitterorden Thank You.. Subscribe:-)

  • I am interested in getting this monitor for an eyefinity setup. Can anyone tell me how thick the side of the bezel is on this monitor? Thanks a lot

  • @hanleychan Exactly 3/4 of a inch, Subscribe :-)

  • I need a JOB lol, I have my eyes on a new HD 5830, new case with good cooling, and this monitor. Its comes around to like 540 bucks or something. And since I have a Turtle Beach for my 360, I could hook that up and Bam, surround sound.

  • I'll be purchasing this monitor at the end of next week when I get paid, woot woot! Great price as well, like $198 with shipping.

  • @flyergd i haven't used the HDMI input yet. although i was planing on getting a ps3 to use with it in a few months so good luck and let me know how it works out for you.

  • @Venix91I have been using the monitor for 3 weeks and so far its great

I can't recomend a better monitor for this price to use with pc ands ps3 at the same time... I hope you enjoy it with your future ps3 as much as me :)

    cya

  • @flyergd for the hdmi cable, do u need a hdmi to hdmi? or a dvi to hdmi?

  • @xnakurax the monitor has 1xHDMI 1xDVI & 1xVGA so you can use a regular HDMI cable from a HDMI source

  • @Venix91 what if u only want to use it for ur computer? like hooking the monitor to the tower? i would need hdi to dvi cable?

  • @xnakurax if your connecting to a computer then you don't need a hdmi cable at all. you only a need a DVI to DVI since most likely your graphics card is outputting to DVI as well as the monitor excepts DVI ,,

  • @Venix91 um no, i want to hook up an hdmi cable to my computer by bga or dvi, cuz its a digital version, not necessarily better, but a digital version then using dvi, so i wanted to know if i should get a hdmi to dvi cable but for ps3 would it be hdmi to hdmi?

  • @flyergd im loving mine, glad to see you are enjoying yours. ,,,, and i'm still deciding on a ps3 or not,, Subscribe for new vids :-)
