fluorosilic acid is added to the water in parts of the UK it is recovered from fertilizer plants chimneys. It is contaminated with mercury arsenic and other heavy metals. Please, please please, get this right. It is not sodium fluoride that is being used for fluoridation. It is hydrofluorosilicic acid (HFS), (or one of its many synonyms, Fluosilicic Acid, etc), and in some cases sodium fluorosilicate is also used. Sodium fluoride is seldom used in water fluoridation because it is comparatively too expensive. It is very poisonous, but HFS is much more dangerous. Please get your facts straight.

But just so you know, here are no shower filters for fluoride as of yet. The ones who profess to remove fluoride remove insignificant amounts.

Also, the majority of the fluoride we absorb enters the body through the lungs when we are showering.

In order to offset the effects of fluoride we must ban it completely.

Otherwise, get a whole house fluoride filter, or a countertop kitchen filter and take cold showers!

@matters5 I use distilled water - you can buy it by the gallon for .99 cents at Food Basics - it's their store brand. They also sell Natural Spring, but I'm not sure if it contains fluoride or not.

I refused to give my child (when he was young 20 years ago ) fluoride tablets and toothpaste and that gave me a lot of problems with my dentist and my GP because they said it was absolutely necessary! Now the advice is not give it to children under 4! They said I was a bad mother, ha!

Since 1973 we have no fluoride in the water anymore.
