  • how did you do that

    =)=)

  • TETRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIS

  • OOOMMMMMMMMGGGGGG

  • Very cool !!!!

  • lolmao. sweetness dude.

  • halaweiiii

  • First, it's a cage that has keeps the people safe, the lightning is attracted to it and is dispersed. Second, They enter different amounts of current at different speeds into the tesla to make it sound like that.

  • Oh... never mind then... but still they are dangerous. Great music though!

  • TESLA COILS... no matter what it is used for, it is still a really powerful and deadly weapon.

  • it was never made to be a weapon ...

  • it is not hurting people as their is a metal cage around it(for a small amount of time you can see the discharge energy when it hits; as the electrons rush to get into the metal and hit each other makeing more light)

  • how is it not hurting anyone?

  • Response to multiple comments:

This is very similar to a Plasma speaker - -- - - Where the resonating frequencies of the electrical discharge is "tuned" (via many electrical processes) to work as a speaker.

It basically vibrates the air with electricity, at a controlled rate.

And yes, someone else is making the music, they just plugged themselves in.

    peace

  • Damn I realllly want to know the name of the first song.

  • Dude me too, i was bobbing my head to it, if you find out let us all know!

  • I just wanna know something. Is the music played by the electricity of the tesla coil?? Or is there some keybord makeing the sound, and the Tesla coil only the movement of the electricity?? Please can someone explain?

  • The electricity is making the sounds

  • Basically what happens is that a midi song etc is run into the tesla coil, and it interprets that and sends out the lightning based on the file, and it makes the lightning makes the sound you hear.

  • Amazing

  • There's a part that reminds me of the song "Arms" by Genghis Tron. :)

  • that looks really unsafe.

    cool music tho

  • It's all masked off within probably a 7-8 ft. range since tesla coils that size pretty much just produce sparks up to 6ft long (from what i've seen anyway) and they likely have some form of faraday cage to isolate the EF if the audience isn't far enough away to be safe from that. It's really quite interesting what they've managed to set up here :D

  • thats just the coolest thing i have seen evah!! awesome

  • put one of these in your driveway, and connect it to your doorbell, to play something ...

  • its computer controlled pretty cool

  • This is totally effin' awesome. XD

  • yeah, i wish i knew that song before mario too

  • Can someone please tell me the song before the mario one, im damn near sure ive heard that song before, and its bothering me not knowing what it is :(.

  • I think the song is done by daft punk.

  • major daft punk fan here, the song aint done by daft punk, but i dont know who it is done be. the second song is the mario dungeon theme and the third is tetris.

  • To fizyka ,ale fajne!

  • awesome

  • NOW THAT IS FOOKEN AWESOME!

  • its not added in there actually pretty cool.

  • cool... I want that thing in my favoured club XD

  • For all those wondering how they do it: for a given note, they turn the current to the coil on and off at that frequency. These pulses of electricity emitted are at the same frequency as whatever sound you want, so they cause that frequency in the air.

  • It could be a midi to voltage converter. You play (or sequence) notes on a modern keyboard, the converter translates the notes into voltages. Put those voltages to the Tesla coil and the arc reacts to the voltages in fascinating ways. Just a thought....

  • It's not the voltage that makes the sound. It's a rapid switch of the electricity on and off. Switch it at the correct hertz, you get a note.

  • thats one of the coolest things i have ever seen... dont people get zapped by it though? i mean theyre standing pretty close. Electrickery. good shit.

  • Hmm I wonder how they did it.. Ye, I know it's just the interruptor but still - is it computer-controlled or just whole generator is a rom-based chip or it's just a timer controlled via some keyboard?

  • There are several videos on youtube of these hooked up to keyboards.

  • the second to last one is the tetris song

  • does anyone know what that first tune is?

  • that's what i want to know

  • isnt the last 1 the tetris theme tune?

  • Very good modulation.

  • can any1 explain me how this works?

    belgvr -at- h-o-t-m-a-i-l -dot- com

  • Sounds like the main boss music from some of the Kirby Game Boy games...

  • why isn't they playing "Hell March"? I would've thought that to be the obvious choice of music...

  • cause its not a 2 bit song, literally, these were midi songs so theres just one set of notes to get at a time, the song hell march was a full on song, alot more difficult to figure out what bits to keep and drop cause the coil is just one instrument making a bands music... and he's prolly lazy

  • "why isn't they playing"

Read that over and tell me what you think...

  • why aren't they playing? i can still speak better english than you can speak norwegian, so i win. go away grammar police.

  • Oh, quit the defensive. :P

  • just a bit hurt over the fact that my bad grammar was more interresting than red alert :-D

  • The last one is old Russian folk song Katjusha or something like that

  • Tetris...

  • first song-zusaphone(i dont know if i spelled it right, but the name is close) 2nd is mario theme, 3rd is Tetris

  • What's the first song?!

  • ya 1 is from tetris

  • damn i seriously want to build a tesla coil now. lol

  • Is that first song from Metroid?

  • WOW this just made me wanna start building the tesla coil i have . it was gonna be a winter project but this is pretty cool

  • I don't know the fist song, but the 2nd one is Super Mario bros. world 1, stage 2, and the 3rd is Tetris music type 1. I'm a huge geek.
