  • It's unbelievable how the train rides by at the exact moment that they shake hands together. You just don't see things like that nowadays. This movie makes me proud to be born and raised in philly.

  • micks like the same age in this movie that stallone is in rocky balboa.

  • @guyinyourattic no,he is much older i think

  • @xlordxboris i know he is, it was a joke about how old stallone was in the latest rocky, obviously micks older in this scene lol.

  • @guyinyourattic i didnt knew u joke :D

i tough u r serious in begining but now i understand what u wanted to say :D

  • fantastic scene !

  • Great man ... this is my favorite scene in the Rocky too ...

    Simply FANTASTIC.

Rocky 1 and Rambo 1 are the Stallone best movies, both very serious and with very good acting ...

    Thanx

  • that's right, it stinks!

i dont know why...but that cracks me up all the time

  • i got heart but i dont have a locker do i mick !! classic

  • This scene alone should have got Sly the Oscar. That man is just way too undrerated.

  • The tone of this movie is what makes it better than all that followed in the franchise. It's a bunch of broken characters all looking for redemption. It really is a great movie. It's Dark and it's real. Love it.

  • they have a new york accent

  • such a great scene...they just dont make movies like this anymore. this is so true about life sometimes..

  • 7:05

    :)

  • whenever I need training inspiration I can always go back and watch and listen to The Rocky Films and Soundtracks :)

  • who can ever forget "cuff and link"??

  • what makes the series so great is the actors that play the characters they give it everything they have they put their heart and soul into it

  • my favorite movie scenes: this is one, ..then Brando and Steiger ( (taxixcab scene) in "On The Waterfront" and Brynner and McQueen in " The Magnificent Seven" Just stays with you forever...

  • i know how he feels...

  • they made good soup lol

  • i love this scene the other scene is in rocky 2 wen rocky asks mickey to let him fight agan and mickey hits him to show his eyes are to bad to fight very sad scene beutifuly workd by these two guys

  • "Don't drink that piss before a fight" LOL!

    1:58-2:17 LOL!

M: "And who gets the publicity"

    R: "Dempsey"

    M: "That's right but why?"

    R: "Because he was champ"

M: "NAH! "Because he had a managah"

That's classic Mickey, and one of my all time favorite lines. He had so many memorbale lines from the Rocky films. He was the best character in my opinion. Rocky films weren't the same without him

  • two tough guys dropping their pride and asking for help from one another. well written and acted scene in movie history. most people say they dislike the rocky films, unfortunately they base it off of the sequels. that's too bad. most will never watch the original and miss out on a great, great movie.

  • @zippydedoo i think the first movies the best

  • @zippydedoo Thank you, you summed up my feelings right there. This scene had nothing to do with fighting. It was all about a tired old man who sincerely wanted to help a younger man, and a younger man who was scared. Stallone has made a lot of dreck, but this scene is truly timeless.

  • when i first saw this movie i was blown away by this scene, i thought how mick was going down low but because he wanted the best rock and you feel the tension when rock is telling how he felt like this whole time and when he goes outside to chase him, man this is a beautiful scene.

  • i disagree that this is the best part of the rocky movies

  • great scene ever!!

  • yeppp. My fav partt of the movie.. Even know i watch this scene over and over again :)

  • I think Rocky needs air freshener lol

  • this is my fave scene, too. thanks for posting :)

  • OMG dude this is exactly my faveourite part to lol

  • Watch closely what Mickey says and does for Rocky. Mickey = Arch Angel Michael.

  • kevin james does some what of this scene on the king of queens. check it out the episode is called "DIRE STRAYTS"part 3/3... hes stuck in the attic

  • think we are all on the same page here, this is the best period

  • best scene in this epic masterpiece

  • "you dont like my house, my house stink"

  • Rocky had a heart of gold. The main reason these movies were so popular.

  • Haha when he walks out then goes back into the toilet.

  • Mick always thought that Rocky had potential but never got the chance to properly train him because he felt that Rocky was just wating his life with his other job. He always thought that he was right, but he swallowed his pride, took the initiative and finally offered his help to Rocky when his big break came.

I never thought of it as Mickey trying to get famous thru Rocky. I see of it as a father, who was observing his son from afar, finally taking the courage to set him straight.

  • That was so funny when they did this scene on king of queens. Doug and Arthur are hilarious.

  • I may be wrong, but on the behind the scenes clip of the special edition, the director says that when mickey touches his head and remembers his hat and rocky comes out and goes back in, that's all not in the script and was just improvised and fit perfectly.

  • @TenTonNuke

    yes you are perfectly rite.

  • i love the part where after rocky has his rant he runs after mick cause he knows he needs him, great scene

  • @Cristalship88 I like how Mick turns around and reacts has though Rocky's was going to hit him. Then he quickly realizes that Rocks coming to accept his offer.

  • man i really love this great series, specially the first 4 ones.

  • 1:12

  • i shed a tear on this scene

    Mickey Ward

  • they shouldn't have made any more after the original, it was perfect.

  • Rocky 1-3 best movies. Wanna no why? Because they all had micky in.

  • WAKE UP YOU SONUVABITCH, CUZ MICKEY LOVES YOU!!!!

R.I.P. Burgess Meredith - one of the BEST ACTORS to bless the screen

  • Simply art. It's the heart of the world.

  • I didn't watch the first Rocky until I was a little older and had already seen parts 2 through 4. When I did finally watch the original (because I used to think it was boring and uneventful) I still used to skip over this part. But luckily, thank God, I matured and realized this is probably the best and most heartfelt scene in all 5 (and now 6) movies put together! So much truth and emotion! Love it!

  • One of the best scenes in any film ever!

  • love this movie, love this scene

  • I remember when i first watched this film i cudnt fucking understand a word stallone was saying and the quality was pretty poor back then

  • It is one of my favorite Rocky moments. I love this film.

  • It is one of my favorite moments as well. I love this movie.

  • good scene!rocky is full of them..... i like how rocky doesn't yell at mick to his face, he yells at him behind a closed door before finally, he forgives him. the scene where he forgives him and accepts his help is silent which is a great touch! in the end Rocky wasn't REALLY mad at mick the anger came from being upset about his life... isn't there where arguments come from between two people... some other place?!

  • this is my favourite scene as well! love the strong feelings that comes out here when rocky gets so upset! it is both funny and touching!

  • Cordonstyle1 likes Rocky IV better..............wowza.

  • Don't show this clip anymore because.....it rips my heart apart....

    This is so sensitive !

  • I thought it was just me.

  • We play tough men, but...still sensitive inside.

  • i got heart but i aint got no locker

  • Its funny beccause this scene is so real in terms of how peopel start coming around yuo giving you attention when you get money/ or are doing well in life/ and try to become your friend/lolool thats the bitterness that rocky was expressing/ but in the end his good heart gave in and thats why he let mickey train him

  • "IT STINKS"

Makes me laugh every time. I love this scene so much.

  • my favorite scene from the first movie

  • I Had no manager....

  • I like rocky IV much better but this is also good ... I`m a stallone fan i like the whole movies he made

  • Comment removed

  • One of the best movies ever made. It may be a boxing movie but Rocky is more about love and human relationships.

  • What did Rocky say at the end of that sentence @ 6:16?

  • "im gonna fight that fight and know whats gonna happen?!? im gonna get that! im gonna get that!!"

  • my trainer died last year

sadly i quit boxing after that

  • thats tuff, why?

  • i coulden face the gym without him their

coulden get a better trainer than him ever

  • This is the story of 99% of all struggling artists...now one cares of your existence...no one unless you get freak luck mean big bucks...the sadness of this world

  • Tears to my eyes every time, without crying. One of the best classic drama scenes ever! Hands down.

  • "You aint got no guts kid" God I love this old man

  • The best scene of the movie.

  • It stinks!!!

  • "They make good soup!" LOL

  • i like how he was a nobody and when he got a lucky break to have a shot at the title, then everybody wanted to be around em,i love the qoute he says WHAT ABOUT MY PRIME MICK......ATLEAST U HAD A PRIME!!!

  • amennnnn

  • zekers

  • Amazing, nuff said

  • man burgess meredith doesnt get enough credit for how brilliant he was

  • @hillcl66 you said it buddy

  • one of the greatest scenes in filmdom. Burgess is as good as any actor in his prime..and Stallone makes his character indelible in movie history with this scene - the best ofthe movie !!

  • god this scene makes me cry every time i see it, forget star wars, star trek, lord of the rings as the best movies mad, the rocky collection are by far the best,he was the hero in us all

  • What's the matter? You don't like my house? My house stink? That's right, IT STINKS!!!!!!

  • I must have had to watch this movie ten times before I realized how much Mickey loved Rocky and that his constant belittling was because of the disappointment that Rocky was to him for all those years. After the second one, they probably should have just quit because without Mickey, the on screen chemistry just wasn't there. I didn't buy into the Rocky-Apollo kinship and Rocky IV was totally predictable. Rocky V would have been better had there not been 3 and 4.

  • I always noticed how, right at the end, Mick backs away in fear - what a fucking brilliant subtle little touch.

  • The rant at the end was improvised initially. But there was a problem with the camera so they did it again.

  • This is my favorite one too.

  • forget all the people who say "all you bums just fantasize over a fictional character!" its not so much the fictional character as much as it is the spirit and courage portrayed by the character. Rocky I is the best in the series!

  • Their ridicule is really ironic, considering the sacrifice and heartache Stallone actually had to go through to make this movie.

The movie industry thought he was a joke, his wife left him, he had to sell his dog, and he was barely avoiding starving to death.

Stallone was every bit this character when he played him: hopeful, broke, scared, and taking the best shot he could.

  • And Apollo broke his nose...

  • and all that sacrafice paid off....he's helped so many people realise who they actually were

  • @NyloStar

Sly even had to make that porn movie... Sly said that he only had like 20 bucks to survive...

  • yeah exactly, he did feel scared. imagine being in that position and only having your 2 turtles to talk to. what a story this was. has to be one of the most inspirational movies of all time. to me rocky is real.

  • Lock up was an underrated Stallone film IMO

  • For some reason my favorite line is when rocky says he needed his help ten years ago.

  • stallone's best movie, after spy kids 3d of course...

  • what about over the top and stop or my mom will shoot?

  • ah how could i forget that masterpiece, how he didn't win the oscar for that one i'll never know

  • "Legs are going, everthing is going..." I can relate to that

  • Stallone: not a fan of real estate.

  • he don't like using condominiums

  • This was a very great scene in a very great movie. I think the first Rocky movie is one of the best in the series! Rocky is a very emotional man, showing a lot of anger in this scene especially when he yells and punches the door twice. WOW!

  • Great! Great! Great! I Cry when I see it.... Rocky you are the Best men in the World!

  • It makes me wanna cry too. He felt so alone and betrayed and scared.

  • The best movie

  • Very nice.. reminds me of my childhood..my one of the best..love ya Rocky n Micky too :)

  • i think Mickey and Mr Miyagi r both good teachers

  • Ironically both Rocky and Karate Kid have the same director. John G Avildsen.

  • "THIS WHOLE PLACE STINKS!"

  • QUESTION: Who was the greatest coach- Mickey Goldmill or Mr Miyagi?

  • lol i love how micky say's '' Fight their guts off, for peanuts'' look at his face when he say's it :D

  • Such A Great Scene!

    I Love This.

  • Rock is the store of a WORKING man a real working man that had hard times and people that love him.. for all the bad and sad thing around him..MICKY is that light for a man that needed to sail too.. MICKY is that.. wonderful light....of hope and strength .... we losing and missing so much.. there so many MICKY out there that people are forgetting them..... i had a Micky he was GREAT ... thank you for posting this.. get up ..you son of bitch....from New York..

  • i think adrian too adrian & mickey ;)

  • one of the best movies ever...ever.

  • ha!ha! at 1:22 look at rocky's face when micky tells him that his turtels would make a great soup!LOL! cause those turtels are his friends!

  • que buenos dialogos aquellos donde aparece Micky.....sencillamente no pudo Stallone haber elegido a otro en ese papel...is incredible Micky

  • Yeah it really STINKS!

    Quote from rocky

  • ya awsome video it has hart in it...

  • slt rocky tu sera toujour le vaingieur tu ai le mailieur continue rocky bravo et encore bravo

  • my favorite part (other than this) was when little marrie said "screw you creepo" and he walks away after trying to help her. It shows how he has heart.

  • ye, i like rocky 6 too,when he met little marrie :D

  • I don't stink... i'm only quoting a line from the film, what's wrong with that?

  • relax, i'm only quoting the film here.. Rocky says: "Yeah that's right it STINKS"

  • mickey is the best, i love that guy.

  • It STINKS!!!

  • Mickey is a badass!

  • Such an emotional scene. Much like a father and son moment with pride getting into the way. Then when Rocky runs after Mick to gently embrace him and apologize is something special.

  • Seriously. I agree times 10!! Its great seeing such kick ass acting. I could watch this scene over and over again. Mick wants his shot in the spot light and help Rocko at the same time, and Rocky dont wanna hear it cuz Mick never helped him those years in the past coming up.

  • the train is very simbolic Notice in the scene in rocky 5 when rocky is in the Floor The trian apears and mickey says get up you son of a bitch Cous mikey Loves you. also look when rocky and mickeys shake hands the train is also there.... lol its just me but its cool to notice every detail.

  • Mickey's such a great character. Burgess Meredith was one of the finest actors ever

  • this movie is brilliant

  • The handshake came right as the train was passing by, coincidence? I think NOT!

  • hahahahah 1:19 (Ya? they make good soup) Hahahaha

  • wat u dont lik my house? u tink my house stinks? YA MY HOUSE STINKS....ahahahahaha

  • " I got heart but no locker mick"

  • so funny that you add this..i was watching the documentary on rocky and this was one of the favorite scenes the actors talked about.

  • this video is the best , rocky feels that's most of people left him he doesn't have a job , they look to him as a bad person , as a loser but he is good person they don't understand him , but when the chance come to him all of that's people come to him and change that's look about him this is our world :( i will add it to favorite thanks you

  • Spot on perfect scene.

  • The last part where Rocky let's it all out is where I can relate the most to. This righteous anger, never being respected nor noticed, unless wealth or an opportunity comes along. Then people suddenly find interest in that person and try to buy a friendship or take advantage of that person, like here like here when Mickey tries to trick Rocky into thinking that Rocky needs Mickey as his manager, which he really doesn't. I believe, trying to be tricked by Mickey is also Rocky's biggest pain.

  • So So true and watching this scene as a kid i didn't know y rocky was going off on him but after living a little life i can def. relate

  • One of my favourite Rocky scenes, and movie scenes,so realistic, acting is amazing, best of stallone's career...

  • you could argue that's because he was really talkin about himself. remember he was 30 when he got his big break with Rocky and up until that point hadn't achieved much in life...

  • Yeh you could be right....,well whatever it is the acting is amazing..

  • i wonder what he said to him when he caught up with him in the street?????

  • Rocky said to him what all men say to their friends when they f'd up. It is what we do.

  • great scene and a great movie, its never been a boxing movie..its about love and relationships...thats what people love about the character and the film...the fights are secondary!

  • I LOVE all the movies of rocky and i would like

if there could be others. rocky is fantastic.

i love rocky, i love adrian, i love little marie, i love this story!

  • it is a great scene but it shows the cupboard-love which have the mickey against rocky

  • great scene, makes you forget about the differences you may have with someone and move on.

  • 100th favorite,,rocky forever.

  • if rocky was only this movie, rather than a hundred sequels,it woulda been legendary After this rocky they should've made rocky 2 and then end it up

As most great movies, the more rocky movies done the more fucked up it became as rocky was slowly losing his fighting spirit and became a star rather than the poor but kickass boxer he originally was

ROCKY 1 AND 2 FOR EVARrr!!!

  • it still is a legendary movie cuz we wouldnt be talking about it now if it wasnt.. But i do absolutely agree on ur other point.. they did mess it up by making too many sequels! Rocky 1 was by far da best

  • ridiculous!! rocky 3 was a classic!

  • i didnt say that rocky 3 and all the other after it were bad,but in these movies rocky lost himself.I mean he became nore arrogant and forgot his town and his previous life..

i know its physical for a fighter to turn from a nothing to a star but rocky wasnt just meant to be famous..after all he suffered the most losses(adrian, mickey)and got hurt much more while he was famous.. so once again

    rocky 1 and 2!!!

  • Heart isnt instant. Heart is inside of you and lasts forever......

  • no it doesnt lasts forever. it stops when we die roflcake

  • amazing

  • but this is really mickeys fault but mickey was such a great actor

  • best part in the whole 6 movies. when they agreed to disagree.

  • I gotta pain and gotta experience too!!

  • Thats right when u feel like u aint nothing this scene give u hope. alot of hope

  • Theres a blooper in tht scene.....which turned out to be brilliant....mickey forgot his hat and before he went back to get it he slammed the door and sly came out early....the look on their faces was great....

  • It was a great scene...

  • that's not a blooper u retarded

  • that's not a blooper. Stallone said it was a great moment that him and Burgess worked on, but it wasn't a blooper. God, you suck.
