The movie Drive sucksss in my opinion. Couple of reasons are: the awkward silences and lack of dialogue but hey, i guess to each his own. But the thing that made me say "wow i cant believe" was that i couldnt believe they stole a score from The Social Network. A movie that i absolutely love, i feel like ive been cheated on!
This song is played three times in the movie, each time with the piano fading out a little more, which symbolizes the fading of Mark Zuckerberg's life and personalty from what it originally was in the beginning of the film.
I think this song's meaning is way beyond just Facebook. When's the first time the song is played ? Right after when Erika calls Mark an asshole and breaks up with him, and while he is running through campus. This song is all about being bruised and not knowing what to do other than to cover your bruise with your hand, hence the song's name. And whenever the song is replayed throughout the movie, it's because Mark feels bruised inside again. What a masterpiece.
This song has this kind of power.........I don't even know how to explain, when I listen to it I feel like in another world. It makes me feel sad and thoughtful at the same time.
makes you feel that you have to do something substantial in your life to get the attention of others especially if you live in greece where people are fucked up anyway
This song leaves you with the uncertainty it creates. It is very much reflecting todays youth, being dynamic but also unknowing where life will take them. Yet it's leaving a glimpse of hope for the better someday.
neither should be judged as better. the soundtracks each work individually for the work that they are scoring. The Social Network would not work with blaring trumpets and Inception would not work with techno beats and electronic samples. Can the debate over which was better please PLEASE PLEASE END?! I am tired of coming on youtube listening to these pointless debates with people who don't know eacother and just enjoy the music
whenever i listen to this it bringsd me back to when i went to ottswa for a family trip and my brother went to universaty at u of o and now ever since i have wanted to go to u of o live in ottawa and socialnetwork is my favourite movie. <3
I'm glad Social Network soundtrack won the Oscar. I listened to some of Inception's soundtrack and it didn't touch me as deep as Social Network did. Plus, most of Inception's work is too loud and distracting while SN can be played while I do homework or need to think deeply.
piracy is not bad.. it is new and it will be the future one day if it is not now. it is amazing how now everyone has such easy access to music and the media that real musicians that don't really care about money like trent reznor support this and put up their albums online free on their web page like the slip. and it you think the industry is loosing money because of this.. movies and musicians are making waaaay more money now than ever, part of it is thanks to the internet
@WtfSimpleplan hah.. no it wont, piracy in no way shape or form harms any sort of media, Netflix/Napster were not and are not piracy... Piracy isn't even piracy, there is no law against downloading or uploading something which is the internet by which is apart of the freedom of information act. @maxmatt4 I'll give you that. I just don't like people watching a movie while it's in theatres online if they can just simply go buy a ticket. It plays a big part in why the box office is in a slump at the moment.
I feel depress and nostalgic when I'm listening to this. No way to escape to the real problems. How to confront an idea who stuck in your mind and he eats you underground? I dont know. Keep continuing?
I am glad this movie won awards for best music. The soundtrack describes how people felt throughout the movie and really made you feel as if you were part of it.
Am I the only one that thinks this sounds like a college school bell that rings at every hour? Sounds nice by the way. I remember hearing this on "Drive" too.
I feel like the sounds have meanings. The instrument that starts off the song sounds shaky, like Mark's feelings, not knowing whether to help his friend or go on his own. The piano represents those good memories he has with his best friend. The low electric note that starts at 1:43 is all the anger Mark has at the world, at his friends, girlfriends, enemies. But at the end, the bad feelings win, because the piano never sounds again from 3:09 .
I wonder if Trent R. meant for the beginning to sound like an old printer because i think it adds to the whole tech thing but still gives it that feeling of this movie of betrayal and dark self-fishes mark had in the movie
@TheSquareSea *shrug* They're the ones, who made this amazing track/video a statement of 'them' and 'me', and being, against. So foisted. Certainly unwilled, atleast.
@diesel7777777 Is there need for further commentary from wankers like you? I mean for starters all I did on this video was compliment the artist and the collaberation. With a name with 7 7's in it. You must be an intellectual too.. like the firey incapacitated type. Feel free to continue to strike out all you want, really. It's your wasted energy, guessing by the stature and regard you hold for me, surely that must take a toll on your heavy hands. Smelly. Lol. Good one. Infant insult diary?
@liberteecabbage, about as much or as many as it took to pin that hairbrain idea in your father's skull to enter your mother and convceive you or the cocktail in which it took for your mother to deliver you. Does either of these retorts suffice? Cool. Cool. Cool. No, cool.
@seitenshow You stumbled through a word salad of nonsense in some pathetic attempt to sound intellectual. It's fucking weird, stop it. You probably smell weird and jerk off to anime.
@CrysisRequiem It's true, sadly, to note facts as it is as such. But it's more than that really. It's compsure. The art of composing and definitive talents in composition. It's choice tone, in sequence, segment. All aligned and linear to a point.. or just the exact opposite masterful chaos.
@MrMichaelChua Seriously. I was distracted throughout the whole movie because it sounded so familiar andI spent an hour looking for what it was until I found this.
This movie makes me wanna do my best to get into the university I deserve, ive been a little lazy, but this encourages me to try and try harder, because im really smart and I know I can do it, just like mark. Thumbs up if you think the same
@videosapasar Are you a genius? Did you score 1600 on the SAT?... And, for that matter, don't follow. Ever... You must lead to do something like Zuckerberg did... Or just be at the right place at the right time.

When I listen to this, I imagine Lisbeth Salander breaking up with me at that Kvarnen bar. Then I proceed to run throughout Stockholm until I get to my apartment to blog about her. Then she hacks my shit for revenge.
Lol, I imagine my grown up self walking out of a bar after having a fight with my a friend of mine and walking through the Harvard campus back to where I live... ;)
I was referencing "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo". Rooney Mara (who played Erica Albright) is going to play Lisbeth Salander. The movie is directed by Fincher, and being scored by Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross.
@MadonnasMrDj No, she breaks into your apartment, tazes you, shoves a large dildo up your ass, and tattoos "I'm a sadist, a pig, and an asshole" on your torso.
i still cant believe they ditched saverin, i would say, bro youre gonna stay here man were gonna drink a lot of beer make me the youngest billionaire and gain a lot of money but i want you to become the second youngest billionaire (how awesome would that be if you could do that for your best friend) it isnt like zuckerburg doesnt have a lot of money atm so why ditch your bff (aint mad at ya, but i want to know the whole story not just 'the social network' story)
you hear the "deep bell sound" throughout the song and specifically at 3:34 i think the sound symbolizes the impact that Facebook was going to have on the world. the deep bell, almost apocalyptic sounding, is a symbol that while he was typing he was creating a billion dollar monster that would change life as we know it
For all of you that say this ISNT in Drive, it is, I'm watching Drive now.
The song begins when RG is asking the kid where he got the bullet and it extends into the scene where RG is talking with the girl in the coffee shop where she works, 45 min into the movie.
Secondly, the track 'Intriguing Possibilities' from this soundtrack is also there. It starts roughly 48 min into it, just as RG steals the mustang and it extends to the next scene where RG is talking to the gangsters in the park
This song sounds like it should had been in a horror movie, it has that really thrilling, creepy vibe to it. But still, it worked good in the social network as well.
@MavalocKing5050 This was also featured in the movie Drive starring Ryan Gosling. If you haven't seen it yet, all I can say is that you do not want to watch the trailers. Watch the movie and you will see that it's probably one of the best movies out this year.
@wccrispy I cant see trent letting a score he designed for one film be transplanted into another, sure it wasnt a working cut you seen with the social network soundtrack to add some depth?
@terreh this song was definitely in Drive... just got done watching it in fact... was looking at both soundtracks trying to find the common track rofl. turns out its not on the offical Drive Soundtrack... Drive is a damn good movie i'll agree with @wccrispy
hey, idiots. this is a song by trent reznor. learn to respect your elders. and fuck you all who came to this and think facebook is responsible for it. nimrods
@markuskentwood lol you're such a dumbass..what does facebook have ANYTHING to do with the song? it was in the movie, but i heard it sampled in a lot of other shows u dumbass...go get a life and stop trying to start fights with everyone that disagrees with you. And, stop being so sensitive like a faggot bitch :)
@jsupermax AHAHHAHAHA AWWWW YOU MAKING MULTIPLE COMMENTS ANNNND COMING TO MY PAGE TO COMMENT ON MY FAKEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE PROFILE? LOLOL WHAT A LOSER. AHAHAHAAHAHAH. GOD YOURE SO PATHETIC AND GOT OWNED SO HARD. THANKS FOR MAKING MY DAY, DIPSHIT. LOL FUCKIN N00B
@markuskentwood how did i get owned? lol i was stating an opinion about a song that clearly everyone on this page says sounds similar... And, you're the one getting so worked up because i guess ur inlove with the composer or something. This is my last comment, you may not be 29, but 1 thing for sure, you're really pathetic and very ignorant. And, only "pathetic" "dipshits" make fake profiles. coward. lmao calling me a noob. good one
@jsupermax lol ok dumb nigger last comment hahaha even tho you just asked me a question. YOU GO TO BIZNESS SKOOL FOR DAT DUMBO NIGGA? DID DA WHITE MAN TELL U TO GET A EDUMUHKATION? HAAHHAHA. stupid typical dumb niggers believing whatever da white man tells him to do. u really are white-washed to shit. and yes, the word n00b was invented for dumbshit new age faggots like you who were like born in the late 1980's-and on. ahahahah dumb niggers
I dont think I have ever seen someone like you. I don't know what to call you: ignorant, senseless, lacking intelligence, or just one of the worst people I have ever personally had the displeasure of seeing or knowing existence of.
Another instance in your lack of intelligence. You assume I was crying and am homosexual. I will stop right here and ignore you now- for it is against my morals to insult mentally challenged people.
@markuskentwood I dont wanna get involved in this argument but you're a fucking asshole. nothing you just said made any sense. and as for you @thesquaresea dont listen to this guy hes just a dick with no brain
@soccerbob7614 i'd rather be a fucking asshole than be a little bitch like you that listens to secondhand serenade you fucking faggot. if you're gonna listen to that shit, listen to dashboard confessional. secondhand serenade is a complete rip-off. now kindly go fuck yourself off and witness where your faggot artists get their influences
@markuskentwood lol dude you're 29 years old and you're spamming people on youtube lmfao....Yeah, talk about race, cause we all know how that gets to people.... But, is that really best you can come up with bro? lmao And, yeah i am a nigger.. A dumb nigger with a business degree and a life... o0o0h man i'm sooo mad :)
@jsupermax lol u think i'm 29? wow bro u believe everything u read on the internet? let me guess, since my user name is MARKUS KENTWOOD, I GUESS THAT MEANS THAT'S MY REAL NAME. LOLOLOL. IDIOT. DUMB TYPICAL NIGGER BELIEVING EVERYTHING THE WHITE MAN TELLS HIM TO BELIEVE. HAHAHAHAHA
The thing about this whole album is that it sounds just like his Nine Inch Nails album Ghosts, not saying that this is a bad thing.

@LookingForTheUpsides I think this soundtrack can stand alone WITHOUT the movie. Inception's soundtrack, not so much. Too much blaring.

When I listen to this, I imagine Lisbeth Salander breaking up with me at that Kvarnen bar. Then I proceed to run throughout Stockholm until I get to my apartment to blog about her. Then she hacks my shit for revenge.

@MadonnasMrDj
Lol, I imagine my grown up self walking out of a bar after having a fight with my a friend of mine and walking through the Harvard campus back to where I live... ;)
AngelixArch 4 months ago
@AngelixArch Lol.
I was referencing "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo". Rooney Mara (who played Erica Albright) is going to play Lisbeth Salander. The movie is directed by Fincher, and being scored by Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross.
MadonnasMrDj 4 months ago
@MadonnasMrDj No, she breaks into your apartment, tazes you, shoves a large dildo up your ass, and tattoos "I'm a sadist, a pig, and an asshole" on your torso.
moviemaster8510 4 months ago
@moviemaster8510 Sorry, I'm not Bjurman. Plus, I don't think this score piece would be ideal for that situation.
But maybe that's YOUR cup of tea! lol!

Yup... Fits perfectly... :') A song fit for both geniuses...
AngelixArch 4 months ago
you hear the "deep bell sound" throughout the song and specifically at 3:34 i think the sound symbolizes the impact that Facebook was going to have on the world. the deep bell, almost apocalyptic sounding, is a symbol that while he was typing he was creating a billion dollar monster that would change life as we know it

@semajpsea This song wasn't in the final version of Drive, althou it is on the leaked version that hit the web as a temp score. Stop being a pirate.

This song sounds like it should had been in a horror movie, it has that really thrilling, creepy vibe to it. But still, it worked good in the social network as well.
MavalocKing5050 5 months ago
@MavalocKing5050 This was also featured in the movie Drive starring Ryan Gosling. If you haven't seen it yet, all I can say is that you do not want to watch the trailers. Watch the movie and you will see that it's probably one of the best movies out this year.
wccrispy 5 months ago
@wccrispy I cant see trent letting a score he designed for one film be transplanted into another, sure it wasnt a working cut you seen with the social network soundtrack to add some depth?
terreh 5 months ago
@terreh this song was definitely in Drive... just got done watching it in fact... was looking at both soundtracks trying to find the common track rofl. turns out its not on the offical Drive Soundtrack... Drive is a damn good movie i'll agree with @wccrispy
