  • Holy god., the music gives me goosebumps.! Totally amazing.,

I just wish they did this with someone else singing it.!

  • Awesomeness at its purest!

  • Whether you love or hate William in AIC, you can't deny that motherfucker can sing.

  • Will is an absolutely unbelievable vocalist

So happy they got this lucky after layne

  • This is simply the best thing ever.

  • Amazing... Muito lindo!!!

  • Нихера себе...нежданчик от Alice in Chains!

  • fucking awesome, a great band playing another one!

  • This Kicks ASS! LOVE IT!!!!!!!

  • GREATEST ROCK BAND OF THE 80-90'S DOING THE GREATEST ROCK BAND OF THE 60-70'S .....PRICELESS.

  • @irishlynch777 Greatest of the 80s and 90s? Are you outta your mind? Alice In Chains is a very good band. But nowhere near the best in the 80s and 902. Just sayin.

  • @rroybraves WELL WHO WOULD YOU PICK? FOR BEST. ITS A MATTER OF OPINION

  • @irishlynch777 Well there's an argument for many bands or artists in the 80s. You have Michael Jackson with Thriller in 82 which holds the record for most sales ever . Motley Crue is up there with Girls Girls Girls 87 and Dr. Feelgood 89. G'N'R with Appetite for Destruction 87. Metallica with Master of Puppets 85. AC/DC Back in Black 80and For Those About to rock 81. It's not just your opinion. It goes by success too. In My opinion It's probably Metallica. The started the thrash metal era.

  • @rroybraves OK YOU GOT THE 80'S COVERED THAT'S FOR SURE, THE 90'S WAS THE GRUNGE ERA WHICH THESE GUYS HAD DOMINATED MAYBE NOT IN RECORD SALES BUT AS FOR THE MUSIC ITSELF, STILL NO MATTER WHAT I THINK THEY ARE ONE OF THE GREATEST BANDS EVER

  • DuVall is really not to good at covers of Alice in chains material that was done with Layne. I mean, nobody can sing like he did. But, DuVall is good at singing Led Zeppelin covers:)

  • @mynameisandrew962 Haha!! Funny, I share the same exact opinion. And the fact that he even tries to cover Layne bothers me!

  • @MrsStormyHedlund Seriously. I would be more then happy to go to an Alice in chains concert where they play only their material from after Laynes death, because they can't do anything more then that.

  • This is an OK version of this song, not the best, but OK.....love the original

  • If there was ever a "Perfect Song".... it is Kashmir.

  • This song suits duvalls voice perfectly. I am very impressed.

  • Roughly 7 minutes times 15 equals105 minutes.....YEAH, she was not only happy, she asked me to do it again the next night.......Over hour and a half..do I need to say more.....My flavor savor lasted til 4 pm the next day....DAMN!!!!

  • Roughly 7 minutes times 15 equals105 minutes.....YEAH, she was not only happy, she asked me to do it again the next night.......

  • That song has always taken me to places I have never been............also great muff diving song....I pushed the repeat song on my stereo and the song played over 15 times while I was "down there". You do the math, she was happy ever after.....

  • I'm not a big fan of Alice In Chains, however, after watching this vid,I'm very impressed with the performance of them and the symphany that performed behind them, they did a great job!!!Thanx for posting thiis video,Redsand!!

  • Ahhhhh. Drags just a bit the whole way.

  • If I'm not mistaken, I'm pretty sure that I see Scotty Olson from Unplugged

  • love it

  • Love Love Love Love Love....

He definitely took me there : )

  • GREAT VOICE WILLIAM

  • No slam to Robert Plant but honestly I liked William's version much better than the original. William needs to get out from behind the microphone stand though lol. Excellent symphony support as well. Not enough Jerry finger work either lol

  • I think I just came watching this

  • Badass.

  • 9:06 mr. messina is really into this song

  • for how many times he became detuned?!..

  • @ofage1235 I agree, beautifull cover !!!

  • William u rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • There ia a scene in Training Day movie that plays Kashmir and sound just like that instrumental version with orchestra. Awesome.

  • even Led Zeppelin would be proud of this

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa inacreditavel fodastico.

  • NICE!!! Great cover..

  • i thought "led zeppelin cover" and it was!

  • This is amazing. Fantastic job by AIC. RIP always, Layne, but William has taken the reins and is doing a great job.

  • awesome but he just doesnt have a scream

  • @omegalen You got that fuckin right!!

  • The original is hands down a classic...But this. Is. Better!

  • is the drummer the man in a box?

  • @SixStringSolid lol.

  • @SixStringSolid LOL gold bro =)

  • @SixStringSolid HAHAHAHAH CLASSIC DOOD!!!........ I THINK IT'S A SNEEZE GUARD!

  • Also, Superb Orchestration Blew my mind

  • Oh dear lord, Page and Plant would approve!

  • @mdustin33 Hey Mike, it's Kris. Thanks for sending me this link. Great cover! We need to see AIC if they ever come to town.

  • GREAT COVER!!! one of the best! Thanks

  • who is the singer?

  • @dare4distance69 William Duvall aka Alice in Chains' "new" singer

  • There are a lot of comments on the conductor. He is Matt Messina, a composer and musician originally from Seattle, most notable for his work on the soundtrack for the movie Juno. He is a fan of all types of music, and was able to put together this particular benefit show with the help of Alice in Chain's manager and Seattle music scene legend Susan Silver. Matt puts together a symphony each year to help raise funds and awareness for Seattle's Children's. Ann and Nancy Wilson also performed.

  • @Redsand187

I wish they'd release this as an album, for charity. I'd so buy it.

  • SCOTTY !!!!!

  • Layne is dead and gone. Just like Bon Scott. Jerry is Alice In Chains. When he's gone, then AIC are done. Move forward or shut the fuck up.

  • I absolutely love this cover

  • WOW!!!!! Thank you William!!! Fan-fucking-tastic rendition!!! gave me chills

  • Yup .... That's Scotty back there ..... He's the man behind everyone .... Scotty FUCKIN ROCKS !!!

  • the drummer is in punishment for sounding like John Bonham back from the dead.

  • This is really badass cool :)

  • good singer that Duvall

  • @1RDP1 uh no he doesnt he sounds great fuck off

  • 0:51 absolutely brilliant how the conductor is enjoying his job!!

  • When can i finally go see some alice vids without everyone bitching "It's not Layne". And "this afro guy sucks" ! or : "get this nigger of stage" !

Please people, get over it and stop the flaming.

    William is fucking amazing.

  • Like if you think this should be released, officially for the charity! I'd buy it!

  • @AwesomeSauceLimited

It sounds more like Robert Plant than Layne would have.

  • @1RDP1

Layne wasn't the only member. He was 1/4 of the band. There is no reason why 3/4 of the band shouldn't carry on with THEIR name because one guy made some bad decisions. I miss Layne too but your comment is bullshit.

  • If Layne would have been there it couldn't have sounded better! Great song, great band. well the first scream lacked something..but how could you go wrong with a symphony to back you.

  • this is so epic

  • Thank you for posting this, just wonderful! So many powerful moments coming together. =0)

  • que cosa mas hermosa wn!

  • idc wat ppl say but duvall sounds just 10x better than plant here

  • Will's voice is better suited to this type of music:P

  • @AwesomeSauceLimited

I totally agree, he's voice is very "classic"(as oopsed to Layne was much more "grunge").

  • ABSOLUTLEY awesome! nothin like watching my favorite band perform ZEP!

  • Wow, what a cover!!

  • Classic. That's all that I can say. This is one of the most dominant songs in Zep's catalog and this is one of the most dominating bands from the 90s. The only thing that is missing is... Staley (RIP)

  • I wish this would have happened when Layne was still alive.

  • Symphony Conductors around the world just went up a few notches in my book! How can you NOT move your head when you hear Kashmir?

  • the conductor was rockin harder then everybody on the stage, he looked like he was enjoying it more then the band. still cant get into William DuVall, as their lead singer, rather hear Cantrell sing lead. good vid though.

  • @thedeeperthings this guys voice is decent.... but it's NOT Robert Plant or Layne Staley. I hope the new album is good, but it's NOT AIC anymore.

  • His vocals are not enuf for this masterpiece ~ they are good, but not alluring and commanding enuf ~

    Peace,

    V

  • Exposing my ignorance... Who is the singer?? This is really an amazing bit of music and video! The conductor is really rockin out!! LOVE IT!!!

  • @wojorox William DuVall, the new Alice in Chains singer.

  • @TheCartoonCorner TY!!!!

  • Exposing my ignorance... Who is the singer?? This is really an amazing bit of music and video!

  • This made me so happy.... Not sure words other than "Jizzed in my pants" can describe it...

  • if anyone still doubts William, they need to watch this

  • Jeff Buckley singing for Alece in Chains

  • Mind-expanding.

  • Amazing, just amazing

  • Or is it his box!

  • Look at Sean in his cage!!! Awwwwww.

  • id rather see layne but nice william

  • @TheMattio100 I'm just about sick about these statements. Guess what? Layne died almost 10 years ago. All AIC fans miss Layne, but it's time to stop and move on.

  • This Literally gives me goosebumps! Incredible performance by my Favorite band. Only way it could have been better is if robert plant himself were on stage singing this, or layne lol

  • Thank You! I love Kashmir!!!!!!!!!!!!!!This is beautiful rendition of LZ's work and AIC - another favorite of mine does great great work! THANK YOU!

  • I never realized who the new singer of AIC was until I recognized his voice in this cover, I saw Madfly back in the 90's, glad he's he's still getting some stage-time, and playing in front of sell out crowds.

  • Fuck everything that makes me feel good!

  • sammy davis jr?

  • 2:59 was a horribly bum note.

  • So glad to see all the positive comments about William Duvall. I just love this performance. Epic. William is epic in this too.

  • William's voice suits perfectly with this song !

  • This is a classic!!!! Great!!!!

  • Simply is a MASTERPIECE!

  • Robert Plant and Jimmy page are fucking masters. A freaking orchestra is playing this song. A freaking orchestra. Led Zeppelin literally got a conductor head banging. That's like....godly....

  • Duvall's voice is perfect for this.

Nobody can beat Layne but Duvall is pretty amazing too!

  • I bet everyone in the audience got chills. I know I did and I'm playing on youtube. I thought they were going to do some shitty mock up, but no...fuckin boss is what they did.

  • uh.. was that a dadgad?

  • I love to watch Jerry

  • I can only say WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • "This one time at band camp* ....... \m/ \m/

  • i like how the conductor is all into it...hella swagg

  • ORGASMIC!

  • love the "old" chains. finally found a multi camera shot of this. hope it gets released on cd or thru their site.

  • Does anyone notice how Mike almost lifts the conductor off his feet and makes him wobble, I thought that was really cool, especially that each member gave the man a bear hug. You just don't see that that often anymore.

  • Somebody make this show available on DVD! I just nutted a little!

  • how anyone can say this guy cant sing is beyond me, he's not layne staley by any means, but hes an aazing vocalist

  • @umumgot

Exactly! people have to realize tht NO ONE can ever have wat Layne had, but duvall is great, he does well!:)

  • how anyone can say this guy cant sing is beyond me, he's not layne stayley by any means, but hes an aazing vocalist

  • @umumgot

  • Great set!!

  • Hey, it's Scotty Olson behind Mike??

  • @DamagePostal

    Yes, that's Scott.

  • @Redsand187

When I last saw him, it was the Alice In Chains Unplugged in 1996. Of course - sadly - not in live, just on DVD.

  • Duvall really has an amazing voice!

  • this is so fucking goddamn amazing!

AIC & Led Zeppelin are the greatest!

  • Thumbs up to get this heard: release this as a high quality download with proceeds to the Symphony Guild or their chosen charity. I WOULD FUCKING BUY THIS.

  • Holy crap! This kicks so much ass I don't even no where to begin. I need to change my underwear.

  • this is awesome

but I love Alter Bridge's Kashmir

  • AWESOME!!

  • Wow duval really did a good job

  • This is the best cover ever! I know Led Zeppelin is an epic band and did the world a favor by writing this great song, but in my honest opinion, Alice In Chains played it better here than they ever did. Alice In Chains is so underrated, in terms of talent they stand up to any band ever to walk this Earth. They are and always will be my favorite band of all-time!

  • Amazing rendition of an incredible song-not one of Duvall's strongest vocal perfomances (i'm sure he'd agree as he's humble and talented) but by far pays homage and respect to one of the best bands in the world by a band that has been so underrated in music--Great choice for a tribute song and the conductor's enthusiasm makes it even more entertaining! Symphonic Zep on an entirely new level

  • Comment removed

  • Best cover ever heard

  • duvall is the only way for aic to keep on delivering great art. be greatful aic is still alive!

  • Led Zep, Alice in Chains ,Symphony....Now, that's how you represent all levels of the word "CLASSIC."....Staley would be proud.

  • NAILS IT!!!!

  • Bravo! That was so awesome, the only thing I didn't like is that I didn't get to hear them live

  • Fucking amazing!

  • LAAAA ZOOORRAAAAAAAA!!!!!!! ALICE IN CHAINS LO MEJOR CTM!!!!

  • LAAAA ZOOORRAAAAAAAA!!!!!!! ALICE IN CHAINS LO MEJOR CTM!!!!

  • Thats class ..rock to fuck on ...yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuup!!!!

  • rok n rol...

  • Unbelievable, just simply unbelievable; what a MAGNIFICENT introduction to Alice in Chains!!!

  • AIC forever man

  • even the conductor is headbanging :))

  • f**** nice

  • Hey... I think they did a damn good job of this cover !!! And let's not forget the reason they did this was for a BENEFIT CHARITY CONCERT... NOT to line their own pockets with cash... Looks like 2 people overlooked that FACT !!!

  • Hey... I think they did a damn good job of this cover !!! And let's not forget the reason they did this was for a BENEFIT CHARITY... Not to line their own pockets...

  • That guy is such a good singer...awesome cover

  • do you think any of the people that were actually here listening to this were arguing over whether this was good or bad?

  • SEAN WANTED HIS HUG TOO, YOU SEE THAT!

  • William imited Robert Plant, o no?

  • I actually downloaded the MP3 for this...just had too its that awesome!

  • Only Jethro Tull could do it as good! But the vocals rock since Ian doesn't sing it!

  • look at the conducter, hes havin an awesome time!

  • Great vocals, great cover.

  • This blows Zepplin out of the water..

  • @hititout3 actually, no. it doesn't. Plant has a much better voice, and Jimmy page is god like. ALSO, Bonham has a much more intense drum line, and they don't rely on the orchestra to fill.

  • @broudwauy and that is your opinion which you are welcome to share as I did mine

  • @hititout3 well the point im trying to make, is you can never say the original isn't as good as the cover. NEVER. on anything.

  • Cantrell has the best TONE in rock n roll. Only he can play this tune on the level of Page

  • william duvall sounds perfectly

  • If LZ continues on with a new vocalist, it should be William for sure. AIC and LZ rule!

  • the conductor head banging

  • Pretty sure that second guitarist is Scotty Olsen? (sp) If i'm not mistaken that's the same dude they had on the unplugged show.

  • Duvall should be proud of himself on this one, he sounds great.

  • How amazing would it be to play a Led Zeppelin song infront of an audience, close your eyes and imagine that you are part of the band?

  • I love this!

  • i think he did a good job

  • This is amazing cover! I only wish Layne could have been alive so we could see what it would be like then!

  • That's awesome! My cousin was playing cello at 3:54!! She did great!

  • This song deserves A THOUSAND THUMBS UP!!!!!
