  • I actually disagree with one of his points. In multiple exercises you use your core. Therefore, if you do your abs first they will be too strained to support yourself in the other exercises. And in the case of some key compound movements, the strength that you would use from your abs is placed directly on your lower back.

  • 4 days a week? But don't you need at least 72 hours of muscle recovery before working that muscle again directly?

  • and lack of entertainment is exactly why i dont run lol!

  • This is key. After a full workout, I can't do abs most of the time. and when i do, it sucks because i just want to pass out lol

  • Lol... he din't mention at all that you need to do cardio depending on the person's bodytype in order to get 10% or lower bodyfat, otherwise the abs wont be very visible....

  • @kutchabo Meal plan = lose bodyfat but good meal plan + cardio will make the process of losing bodyfat faster :P

  • u have bitch tits

  • @TheReblz kill yourself

  • Why would I wear out my abs before I do squats?

  • heres a secret scotts a dumbass the secret to abs and any muscle growth is hard work good diet and a shit load of cardio for a 6-pac dont waste your time or money on this idiot

  • @MrScdpp That's pretty much what Scott said actually.

  • Cheeky at the end hahah :L Scot can u bring out a video where you show us how to train your lower abs ?? Because I have 4 pack but the bottom of my belly is a b*tch

  • @ScotLee

I lost over 15lbs just by doing the one

month work out plan. My partner and I

did it together and we both feel great

afterwards. I feel some intense working

out those routines and my abs were starting

    to appear visibly..Anyway, you interchange

the name of te site. That should be:

    AmazingAbs.info

  • so u do only abs??

  • @ashystyle no look at his channel

  • Is this a joke?!

Do abs first and you will hinder your other lifts and possibly hurt yourself.

2 sets cable crunch, 2 sets oblique sways with dumbbell and 2 sets leg lift all 10-15 reps is all you need for abs. Do them all after one workout or 1 after each of your workouts and rotate.

Oh, and clean your fucking diet up or you won't see shit.

  • @AtoZyzzyva working abs first isnt as dangerous as you say. I work abs first often times and it does make me tired if followed by a heavy compound but you must just be aware of how you will react to ab first routine and then adjust accordingly.

  • @eyeam19able

So hinder all the big, muscle building lifts by dropping the weight on them just to give abs more of your energy?!

To get thick, bulky abs all you need to do is what I said in my first comment and get your body fat low enough.

If you want flatter, pussy abs then just get your body fat low enough and do like 20 crunches, bicycles and floor leg raises. Both take <5 mins.

Also, you said "if followed by a heavy compound" - all your routines should start with a heavy compound.

  • I think your videos are awesome BUT this is the one time I've questioned what you've had to say. Doing abs first would naturally make your core feel tired which isn't too useful if you're training legs and have to go and do squats. That's why I always leave abs till last, because your abs are used in almost all exercises, so I beast them at the end. That's my opinion but I guess just do what you prefer! Thanks for the videos, appreciate them a lot!

  • Great tip i start doing abs first then everything else so i was not so tired @ the end

  • @bondarkenergy @lacrosseman43 Actually DOMS only occurs when you train above your usual level. If you train at the same intensity each time, you'll only experience a little DOMS. new lifters will experience it much more because their muscles aren't used to exertion at all.

  • another secret is removing that layer of fat by doing cardio! :)

  • I still don't know why abs should be done first

  • what do you recommend if you have no access to a gym...

the only tools i have is

    - Olympic Bar (45 lbs) -- Plates 45x2 35x1 25x2 10x2 5x4

    - Bench - Adjustable to Flat and Incline and is separated from the thing that supports the Bar so I can do squats...

    - Metal Dumbbells - 40x2

    - Ab Lounge Sport

    - Leg Magic

  • so stupid boy...

  • Core is favorite part of my body to work out, I work it 2 times a week!

  • SHUT THE FUCK UP AND SHOW US SOME EXERCISE TECHNIQS

  • @mrLakkiss - you are a dick!! if you have nothing to say - dont say it all - go in your corner and whine some more

  • @cboosalis shut the fuck up UGLY

  • Obviously for those who are already skinny but for the other 90+% ab exercises is a big no no till you Drop your body fat % to the single digits for men Only. once you get there then yeah sure by all means work on your abs as a individual muscle to get them thicker and more noticeable. But if you have lots of fat on u don't even bother because all you will do is give your abs strength and make your stomach look fatter.........

  • douchebag medallion ftw!

  • Is being sore the next day a good indicator of muscle gain/improvements/results/growth? ive always wondered because sometimes my muscles are really sore and other times their not.

  • @lacrosseman43 yes being sore the next day is a good indicator, its called Delayed Onset Muscle Syndrome and its a level one injury. this is the tearing you commonly hear of when it comes to muscle development.

  • @lacrosseman43 if there sore it means you worked out hard enough for your muscle tissue to tear therefore grow bigger. If you didnt ache its the opposite you didnt work hard enough. Hope I helped bro

  • @lacrosseman43 I can't answer that, but I've found taking a protein shake just after a workout helps to stop the next day soreness. That might just be me, but I'd say give it a shot.

  • @lacrosseman43 the reason it hurts is because the muscles have torn and need to be repaired, so if it hurts then you have more chance of more growth depending on your diet, but then again the more you work out the less it hurts, but that could be because the muscles take more to tear once they are stronger

  • @golfer2301 hell isn't cool ..

  • @fsfsto someone a hater

  • scott, is it possible to bulk up and get ripped at the same time? You seem to be able to do so..

  • @fernandokleinrocha Fitness is a lifestyle, not a bulking cutting bulking cutting process. Life healthily and you definitely can.

  • @fernandokleinrocha i know this comment isn't directed to me but that isn't a easy thing to do... in order to do that you need to gain a lot of muscle as well as lose weight. it's best to focus on one thing at a time.

  • @CoachNatey Thanks for your help, It is indeed a good idea to focus on one thing at a time. In january I'm gonna start my cutting down process to try and lose weight, as I've been focusing solely on gaining muscle mass for nearly 4 months already :)

  • scott, is it possible to bulk up and get ripped at the same time? You seem to be able to do so..

  • Think he plucks his eyebrows? Or does someone pluck them for him probably?

  • don't do your abs first. during your workout you use your abs as a stabler to help you with your exercises. many exercises such as squats, bench press, row, and pull ups use your abs as a stabler. with weak abs during the workout you can end up with serious injury, also you will not do your exercise properly because you will not have a stabler.

  • Hey there! Have you ever tried intellectus 424 diet (just google it)? Ive heard some great things about it and my sister lost lots of weight with it.

  • I've heard its very dangerous to do compound exercises with a weakened core, so wouldn't doing abs first and then squatting or dead lifting be foolish?

  • I JUST STARTED THIS MORNING, WHEN TELL YOU SCOTT HERMAN HAS WORKED MY ABDOMINAL S!!! I CAN BARELY STAND...

  • WITH A BODY LIKE THAT, HE DOESN'T NEED A SHIRT...

  • do you own a shirt?

  • those are some very great tips thanks alot

  • ᶰo mᵃᵗᵗᵉʳ how ᵗemptᵉd ʸou ᵍᵉᵗ, ᶰᵉvᵉʳ ᵗrʸ ᵗhᵉ dᵃʳᵉ oᶰ wwvv.13hoʳʳoʳ;com ᵎ

  • @wheatybasil yup i only do abs on my cardio day

  • someone buy this guy a bra

  • I'm gonna jerk myself!!

  • I HATE, I mean HATE, those stupid exercise machines on TV. They're not "entertaining" and often not even effective. So I would not be endorsing them like that. They're mostly junk, for lazy people, who want to try to target weight loss... which is impossible. As a fitness professional, I really think you should be speaking out against such junk... not saying they're both effective and entertaining.

  • Is it me or is your left pec bigger then your right?

  • @Ralinzbored thats actually normal. Left pecs are slightly bigger to protect your heart. I find the difference in mine is a little bigger cuz im a lefty and like to beat off ihhihih

  • I like all the little puns and stuff he has in the speech boxes lol

  • Amazing

  • just wondering...don't you increase the risk of injuring yourself while doing the heavy lifting exercises if you exhaust your core muscles early in the workout?

  • Hahha, love the end!

  • you can't have great abs if your abs are covered in fat... so eat right, nail the cardio, then do the ab building workouts

  • work ur abs 1st if u want,,,but to me if u work ur abs 1st ur core will get weak n tired after that,n then u start to do heavy ligting that also need a strong core to balance it, n at the time u dont, good luck my friends u might snap some shiet up n send u straight to retired home very early,,so be careful,,as far as abs going all the way down, as long that u dont put blood pressure to ur head when u over extend that should be fine.

  • Ben Affleck on roids

  • lmao that stretch at the end was so fucked up, funny as hell

  • working your abs isn't all about working your abs you need to work you whole body i would say find something active that you enjoy doing like a sport or something that would get you to work your whole body that plus knowing what to eat will get you the abs you want there is no secret

  • abs are my favourite :) i love the burn!

  • bitch LOL i want abbs like that :P i have u arm muscles but not the abbs... they are just hard :P any ideas to getting them formed?

  • Dont do ur abs first, especcially not if u're gonna do squats or deadlifts

  • the secret is your diet and your body type, not how strong your abs are

  • I only do abs once a week. Then again you gotta have really low body fat to see them.

  • In This Video Scott looks like a Ripped Tarzan!

  • some people say too much ab workouts are pointless b/c they get worked in other movements like squating and also if your body fat is high your not gonna see your abs no matter how many crunches you do but idk

  • both top comments have 101 thumbs up

  • Hi ! I'm a fat fuck. I want to get ripped. Should I loose the weight first and then start to gain muscle ? :)

  • @VerystrangeMaster do what he said in the video. lmao MEAL PLAN. And cardio cardio cardio. You can do weight training with this but the key factors in your losing weight regimen shuold be ur nutrition and CARDIO (can't stress it enough, lol).

  • he looks so HOT!

  • Comment removed

  • Scott has great abs, I always do abs last. I'm going to focus on abs and see if I can get the same kind of ripped look Scott has.

  • btw how many reps should I be doing when I go heavy and should I add to 1 more workout for lower abs? and i so should i do less sets? I'll give you example say I do 3x15 crunches 3x15 sit ups 3x15 leg lifts with weight/resistance and then tuesday I do 3 sets 15-30 russian plate twist and i work in lower abs by doing reverse crunches 3x15 would that be a good? workout by the way i play basketball so i'm an athlete.

  • hey scott i follow my routine kinda like yours by doing abs four times a week upper/lower monday oblique/lower tuesday and wednesday i rest and start all over and saturday and sunday i rest, i usually do about 3 exercise for my abs on monday and tuesday but now i'm starting to do only 2. i usually do two different exercises for upper abs and one for lower and on the days i hit obliques i do 2 for obliques and one for lower. i also go heavy the first 2 days and light the next

  • stop bla bla bla .. show something

  • @skcp008 look at the end of the vid ;)

  • bro u got any remedy for brown/indian people cause our diet consist of rice, bread and curries

u think u can help me make a meal plan from this

  • arching your back is irrelevant. performing flexion and using isometric contractions makes abs.

  • My abs totally look that that... if only they weren't under an inch of flab!

  • great video.

  • This guy is hilarious!

  • I do my abs workout in the end of my training... and i have an 8-pack. just kill your abs whenever you do them... just do it

  • hahaha i gotta stretch real quick

  • i heard that you cant seperate the abs in work outs....

  • u fukin fagget ass bitch diz iz a waist of time show how to do it not fukin explain it

  • @felix209rbk shut the fuck up! go do it yourself. the instructions should help you. why u mad?

  • Right so where can i order an ab pillow.

  • The best abs exercicse for me is pooping :D

  • @ho7s0 then you should like this;)

    youtube.com/watch?v=1vciLDOy6t8

  • @ho7s0 I've noticed that the more ab exercises you do the easier it is the poop

  • @iNNeViTable1 YOU SO CRAZY!!! LMAO!!!

  • @ho7s0 after my obliques workout i cant poop the next day cause im sore all over

  • @ho7s0 hahahaha now thats intense.

  • Training abs first is dangerous in my opinion, you need your core to be strong so it can support you while you do your compound lifts

  • @PanicBlackEye so what you mean is that by training ur core, getting it tensed and warmed up so it can support u better..........., is a bad thing?

  • @CSlickz55 No, what Im saying is that by pre exhausting your core before you do your big lifts it may be to fategued to handly heavy weights, which has the potiential to cause injury

  • @PanicBlackEye Totally agree. Just imagine doing your core, and then attempting your usual, heavy deadlift :)

  • "im not that flexible" lol

  • Great video! Thanks for the post.

  • this guy is full of shit!!!!!

  • @OsmanG3 so why do you watch it?

  • my abs look good til i get tha munchies. lmao

  • i dont know were you live but im looking for a good trainer, if you can give me that body by doing exzactly what you say ill fly any were to get it done. shit ill fly there for every work out. i just want hella result and to stay fit. i want to get to the point were i enjoy lifting as much as i do running and cardio and im sure they dont go togeather for bulk but im really just looking to get cut and lean. help

  • how can help me, i have no belly, i have big arms, big chest but i cant make no six pack! i dont no way, i do everyday abs exercise, for lower and upper, but still no pack :( why should i do:( i make more then 200 reps per day :( and nothing...just no fat on my bell, flat stomach, that's it

  • @thecrimelord19 Try to do harder ab exercises. Legs raising on the bar and ab roller workout should help you. Check out my channel for ab workout i usually do.

  • Who enjoys doing squats? That's the only exercise I dislike doing.

  • everybody is normal! haha :)

  • 2:35 reminds me of my penis when i see a ugly girl.

  • u changed my life , ( im not fat or something ) i'm a cute guy ,but now i'm start look even then brad pitt , and i will reach C ronaldo level then is the FINAL (you) :D

    thanx scott

  • This is bad advice. Most if not ALL experts say that we already have abs but it's just a layer if fat covering them. Working your abs that extreme isn't that necessary.

  • @ThaGenius101 looks like somebody watched that asian dude's video thats being promoted all over youtube

  • @ThaGenius101 depends what your personal goals are. you cant tell anyone that it's not necessary.

  • doing abs at the start is bad because you need your core to support u back and stuff for squats... am i right?

  • LOL if you're a normal person:P nice

  • lmao you know who you remind me of? the guy from a night at the roxbury. the one that works out a lot at the gym bahaha. thumbs up if you agree

  • Do abs first? try doing some hardcore squats with tired abs :|

  • Like your style bro , you got a sense of humor.

  • lol what are you doing at 5:06?

  • Oh I need my balls alright :P

  • HA!

    ABSolutely !

  • i feel retarded when im watching you.

  • if you dont have a good V cut working obliques makes you look like you have love handles

  • Scott you ought to be an actor.Try Hollywood man.

  • why do you have no shirt on

  • dude!! your the best!!!

  • The real secret is 7% bodyfat. And the ending was fun! Thanks for the tip though, I do 5 supersets every 5 days, but always did them after my workout... I'll try this, thanks!

  • 3:00 Dont you ever point at me again!! :)

  • the problem with doing your abs first is thatyour core is your support. starting with your abs makes working with heavy weights dangerous. he has no clue what he is saying

  • i understand your point but if you need to do heavy squats or deads for reps for example, having visible but thin abs is not only unhelpful, but its very dangerous for your back. in other words, when you see a really strong guy doing ab resistance work, he's not "doing it wrong" he's trying to help his squat/dead AND keep it safe

  • haha ab workouts ! people ! are lazy haha! just cardio is the big solution ! fat % must be like 10 to 12% to see it, depends on ure genetic , but burn the fat and do the ab workouts as a extra!

  • @jika12 seeing your abs and having strong abs are not the same thing.

  • @000EatMan000 what do you prefer see them or have them strong? id defenetly want to see them and as i said if u wanna them burn the fat!

  • i wonder if he ever visited a store with t shirts

  • scotts a nice guy

  • @caseykc93 definetly

  • @Majikasian

If you cared to watch all of Scotts other videos he actually shows you how to do individual exercises with proper form.. And how Is this BS? It's great advice.. You won't find it in many other places for free. Appreciate the guy and his advice. He is awesome!!! and talks from experience.. Obv as his body speaks for itself! Lol.. All haters (not u.. But others) are just jelous! And they know that!

  • How do I give 5 stars?

  • why isnt he wearing a shirt?

  • @baijoiner1 he dosnt own a shirt

  • @DanimalSmash If he always wore a shirt you wouldn't know if he was ripped or fat, would you listen to someone in worse shape then yourself? -no.

  • @ebrahimturner haha i know i was joking with the baijoiner1. if i was ripped then i would never wear a shirt haha. its all good
