  • my dad walked in and i switched to porn, much easier to explain

  • @skilldevils lol

  • I had to hold a cup next to my chin to hold the drool = D `` looks soooooo good

  • @yady753 lol!! :)

  • Mmm, that looks delicious and I can smell it lol

  • @Tpenxo :)

  • Wow, looks great :))

  • We liked it! But I knew I would! I liked it better last night then I had it today for lunch reheated not as good :( Maybe because I had to cool my own chow mien noodles?? Thanks for the recipe!

  • @MrsRedAng It was probably too strong, right?? Like the oil had set in. Roc pointed out she was going to reduce the sesame oil.

  • this was awesome. have mom make more videos with you!

  • @ekimxo she will :)

  • WOW, looks really good :)

  • Yum!!! Thanks for the recipe.

  • These noodles look really good.. I'm like Roc, I would need to get most of the ingredients for it.. LOL Most of that, I don't keep on hand.. Never heard of the char siu..

  • Guess what Im making for dinner!!!!

  • @MrsRedAng YES!!! :) Tammy made it tonight too and loved it. Let me know what you think :)

  • I love how there are no negative comments here.. Happy land.. great food and positive attitudes!

  • @Reymius Those come later... My crew (that sub) are awesome folks. If they don't like something, they will just not say anything, or phrase it in a way to let me know it is not something they'd make, etc, etc. Then, after my crew are done seeing a video, the stragglers who just search something come along. A few days ago I got, "must've been made by a fatty,...YUMMY!!!!...this is a MESSIPE, not a recipe." All kinds of ridiculosity that I smile at and block. ;)

  • Sometimes the easiest of meals are the best!

    :-)

  • @twish1999 I agree, Trish. There really isn't a need for overly involved stuff haha Scott handed me a beautiful calendar last night that was given to them by their credit union. I flipped through it and it was gorgeously done, but there was ONE recipe of the 12 that I would even attempt. The recipes were submitted by some of the best restaurants on the island. They are beautiful but overly involved and super time consuming. I said thanks, but you can have your calendar back haha

  • Just so you know, we are on our way to the Asian market to get all the stuff we need to make this tonight. I will video or take photos so you can see! Need: noodles, carrot, oyster, sesame, char siu (might use chicken), green onion, and I'd like to add bean sprouts. Guess what? I have an onion and soy. I am excited!

  • @popparoc46 Wow, lots to get. We generally only have to get the noodles and char siu haha I guess this is the difference of a local kitchen. Sesame oil and oyster sauce are considered staples here ;) I really hope that you enjoy it. My next project is getting you real shoyu ;)

  • Your Momma's cooking made my mouth water. Lol! I'm going to make this, but with chicken and cashews. MMmm Thanks for the great video!

    ((hugs))

    Cindy Mae

  • @CindyMae11 aw thanks. She does enjoy when I ask her if she will let me film it.. this day, however, she just wanted to get things done and I think I was taking too long to get cameras started and she got a little tired of waiting on me HAHA!! But I told her "what if someone is dying to know how to make noodles?" hehe She is easy to talk into things sometimes ;)

  • Yummy and simple. I've never seen chow mein noodles packed like that, but I'll bet I can find them if I try. Might be time to break out the wok...

  • @anmoose Hope you can find them! Tammy found it in Canada, you can!!

  • I love when your mother cooks and bakes! This is a winner for sure. Make more stuff mother!

  • @wildheart5 aw thanks Barb!

  • aww...yum!!! your mom rocks!!

  • @ono4aku66 Thanks! :) How are you doing?

  • Nice it tastes like the stuff at my local mall's foodcourt

  • @Reymius Thanks :)

  • I think i will do this with chicken, looks Yummy!!!

  • @longcara yes that would be delish!

  • @YUMMYmsg :)

  • looks soooo good!!! can Iborrow your mom some time

  • @soonfully ;)

  • Looks so good! Love it! Hugs!

  • @imperceptibleme Thanks Melissa! :)

  • I'm so glad you have posted this video! you have saved me a bundle of money...how you might ask?? lol My two teenagers loveeeee fried noodles, we keep trying to make them but we just cant seem to make it right, so each time they are at the mall, or out and about they buy them...they are so expensive!!! They have their hot spots where to get them...Well tonight I made yours and BAM, these are better then what they have been buying :-)

  • @cherry420x Glad you can now get away cheaper! :))) These do have a lot better flavor to them than the stuff at places like Panda Express :)

  • This looks really, really good. I've always liked Chinese noodles, but I've never tried to make them...I never even knew those pink-red strips of meat had a name. One day soon I shall give this a try.

You and your mom rock, Beth! ...Although I did laugh a little when you said, "Spam". :)

  • @flatlander873 LOL!! Yes, spam :))) It will be a funny thing to look back on in a year,... "remember the time when all my messages were marked as spam?" ;)

These are really good and now you got to learn something new. Char siu :)

  • Guess who bough oyster sauce and chow mein noodles today?

  • @yoyomax12 WOOHOOO!! I hope you like it!

  • YUMMINESS!!!

  • Your mom is a natural! Ok I notice that you use the wooden spoons a lot. Are wooden spoons better to use? I know you had a contest or something with wooden spoons but didn't get to see it.That looks really good.

  • @COOLIKEDATAZIAN We have always used wooden spoons for forever. It is hard to find the old school kind anymore, which bums me out. I just found an unopened package of them at Savers, so snapped it up for when we need some new ones!

  • @CookingAndCrafting Santa gave my son a set of bamboo ones. OMG the pancake turner style is so thin! They are harder too so don't absorb as easily. Good stuff.

  • It is hard to find car siu here, but I'm sure I could make some myself...Looks yummy!!! Love ya, Ang

  • @GramsandPapi yep, or you could just use some roast pork!!

  • OMG! This looks soooo good! Is there a sub for the oyster sauce in the sauce Momma made? I am allergic to and seafood that has a shell! TFS!

  • @mrspamelawilson I don't know of any substitute for it, sorry :(

I got your beautiful card today--thank you so much!

  • Just woke up I want this for brreakfast....lol Really enjoying granny in the kitchen videos : O )

  • @Carballoca thanks Pam :)

  • lv you guys xxx

  • @arabbint thanks :)

  • Looks wonderful thanks Mom!

  • @MrsRedAng thanks Ang ;)

  • i've never seen char siu in a store but i have never looked for it either. i betcha i can find it somewhere. these noodles look so amaaaazing! nice to see ya, granny :)

  • @snarkdetriomphe I bet you could buy some at a Chinese restaurant

  • and i have to tell you i lusted after these too, just like roc did. im glad she hinted she wanted the vid to go up hehehe ;)

  • @snarkdetriomphe ha! I'm glad I put it up as well. Lots of people watched this

  • hey kid. life and crafts have led me astray but i am here.

  • @snarkdetriomphe damn those crafts!

  • You are a really neat person. I like your dishes, have favorited some tonight to try in the next little bit. Thank you.

  • @jayneleigh10 Thank you so much :) Hope you enjoy it when you try them!

  • Beth your mom is adorable! :-) this recipe looks yummmy thanks beth and mom!

  • @Fitange Thanks :)

  • They look good. Roc better attach a video showing her results or we will figure she chickened out!

  • @thizizliz lol! They only cheat once a month. Their cheat date has passed

  • Looks so good!

  • @patboardman thank you!

  • oh man this looks AMAZING.

  • @messtomasses thanks :)

  • Yum! Looks great... I'm surprised, but I do like and eat Bean Sprouts... even fresh ones!

  • @JoleneSugarbaker I don't mind having bean sprouts in my noodles, when she talks about our family not liking it, she mostly means Scott... He would eat it, as he does when we pick it up at a restaurant, but is just not fond of it. I say make him eat it, he doesn't get enough veggies in his diet.

  • I know this would be delish cuz it's pretty much the same sauce we use for our cashew chicken! Question though...what's the difference between 'chow mein' and spaghetti? Around here, if you ask for or want chow mein, you get crunchy, fried noodle strips. Low mein is the soft, spaghetti like stuff. And if you go to the Asian markets here, they sell packages of spaghetti (even says so on the package) as low mein. So what makes yours different? Or rather, what is your chow meins ingredients?

  • @croutoncrackerjacks That's a good question--one that I do not know the answer to, unfortunately. But I can tell you one thing, spaghetti noodles are nothing like chow mein or lo mein noodles here. I wish I still had the package to read you off the ingredients. Next time I go to the store I will try writing it down

  • You cooking with your mama makes me smile, she's such a delight.

  • @Witchyone131 thanks ;)

  • Thank you for sharing this recipe! It does look very easy enough to make.

  • @sisahhlee You're welcome :)

  • Oh my this looks so good! They sell Chinese style noodles (fresh in a package like yours) at the grocery store but I'm not sure if they are chow mein, they are more whitish in colour. I will look next time I am there.

  • @yoyomax12 If they are white, they are probably thicker .. perhaps udon?

  • It's a winner for sure....another classic video with your mom :) I'll be on the prowl now for a char sui recipe....any suggestions Beth? It's almost 5.30am Tuesday morning here and I ask you..... why am I craving fried noodles at this crazy hour? Oh yeah....Beth's just showed us all how to make 'em....lol Well I'm off to the kitchen to make a turkey/stuffing/mayo/cranberry sandwich...and then I might just go back to bed...lol I feel another lazy day coming on...thanks for this recipe!

  • @whistonlass Try this recipe: watch?v=o0uWKroQ3IU

Hoping that it is close to what you can buy. I am going to give this one a try as well

  • This looks really good! I am going to make this sometime soon!

  • @lynncrum Thanks :)

  • Mmmmm this looks good...

  • @sunsetlover THanks :)

  • @sunsetlover THanks :)

  • Noodles! noodles, noodles noodles. Hmmmm. Grating carrot. I always lose a piece of my thumb when I grate, but it will be worth it. I will go to the Asian Grocery store tomorrow and get some noodles and maybe some sprouts.

Favourited and liked. I'd prefer to use lots of ★ ★ ★ ★ ★s, but we will have to wait until I eat the NOODLES. It looks terrific and I want it.

Thanks, Beth! It was worth staying up to see.

    - roc

  • @popparoc46 bwahaha You're welcome. I hope you do get to make it.

  • LOL.... I love the cooking vids with your Mom. AWESOME to spend time with Mom in the kitchen. I know I cherish the time I spend with mine anywhere. Thanks for sharing Beth!
