  • There are two possible ways to handle this. The first is with commas. Each comma acts like a short pause. The next is if you put a 'Next Sentence' behavior (there are also Next Paragraph and Next Word behaviors) no a button on the page, then each time he hits the 'Next Sentence button' it will speak the next sentence in the message window.

  • Another question was can you put a pause between 2 sentences on a msg window. e.g.Kid before going to the librarian types in "Can you help me finding a book" (PAUSE Lib:"Which one"? ) "Harry Potter Goblet of Fire please". Basically a pause on the msg window

  • Another question we would prefer him doing his HW on dynavox because of predictions and shortcuts. If he does that, can I program/write or record a macro and assign it to a button where it go and dump contents of the msg window into a word doc...thanks

  • full 2 handed typing is terrific for access. However, the MyPhrases, Slots, Prediction, etc in the DynaVox can allow rapid composition of much more than quick/functional communication.

  • Yup I completely agree...its a terrific tool.

  • He seemed much more comfortable with the touchscreen on his DynaVox than with the keyboard. Have you connected the Dynavox to the computer with their IR link and allowed him to access the computer with that input?

  • Thank you for your kind words...no I have not tried the IR link with the computer. Great suggestion. I will try that and let you know how that goes. Thanks again for the encouragement

  • Certainly. The items is called an AccessIT if you need to obtain one from DynaVox. It works well.

  • We will try that..another thing we are trying is to get him to use all his fingers on the keyboard so he can type much faster since dynavox is limited to only quick communicaiton

  • Cool...can I ask you a few questions (not sure if you work for dynavox they are located in PA to)

    1) When copying and pasting buttons from one page to another is there a snap to grid function which will help me to align the buttons

  • Yes, you can easily align buttons into a grid. This can be either by starting the new page as a template, or other features. I have posted video replies to this video showing some of the page editing/organizing features.

  • Now you are going to get more questions :) needed someone like you (Can the page structure model be imported into something like visio like you can do for a website/database--to see the wireframe design

  • I do not believe so.

  • Sorry one more question. With WWS200 and a tablet PC I had used "penreader" for writing on screen with stylus..which then speaks it out. Do you have guys have something like that built in with the software itself series-5 ? Thanks

  • I do not believe that is built-into the DynaVox. I know that such a feature comes standard from Microsoft in their XP Tablet edition, but not in XP Home or XP Pro.

  • No he does not follow a pattern...maybe when he is pushing the keystrokes it is interfering with his fine motor skills. On the other hand he can push the buttons on the VCR with his toes

  • very cool. keep up the good work, you can come over and pull Shayna's tail, she misses you lol.

  • Intresting to see his repetetive moves. He seems to follow some sort of pattern?

Any moore info about this kid?
