Hi - I have a 2007 Helix. Can you tell me where you got a "Gates belt" and why you didn't go with stock? How much is it? My clutch is now "metal on metal" How did you break off rear hub (I do not own an air wrench) and how did you put it back on? Thanks for any help.
@alosborntigard Hello. I got the gates belt because it was about $40 cheaper than the oem belt. I can't recall where I got the belt from, if I think of it I will let you know. What do you mean your clutch is metal on metal? By the rear hub do you mean the clutch bell (rear) or the variator fan (front pulley)? I took mine off with an impact wrench. If you do not have one, you are going to have to hold the clutch bell with a strap wrench or similar and tap your ratchet with a hammer.
I have a few routes for traffic conditions but the longest is 26. I have seen a couple of these plus the qlink commander clone around town. There have also been a couple of Reflexes on craigslist.
@troutdaletim Get the honda version don't get the chinese copy. Although they are pretty close the knockoffs use subpar components. If you don't like to work on it more than you ride it get a honda.
I am seriously considering this one for my daily commute in the Portland, Oregon, area. 6' 2" and 240 pounds. I should do okay? Two not so major hills to contend with.
@troutdaletim I'm 6'4" and more weight and I can take the bike up to 65mph with not too much trouble. How far is your commute? Even for a bike this old, it's been stone reliable and gets great gas mileage.
@3WHEELERMAN8483S LOL I've driven past a few and got less than promising looks, thankfully my size keeps me outta trouble. I've got the honda shadow now with straight pipes and the harley guys at the harley dealership are not equally impressed LOL.
@truecreation I understand that. Every time a new toy shows up at the house the wife expects me to get rid of another one lol. What I would really like from the UK is an 80's yamaha RD350 or 400. They stopped importing them here in the late 70's.
bro nice scoot anyone who doesnt appreciate the helix hasnt been on one i have one in the uk and apart from having to have all my custom parts shipped over from the states its easily the most reliable and comfortable bike i have been on and i have had quite a few from superbikes to tourers.good luck with the sale bro ..personally i would keep it :)
@truecreation Too many bikes lol. I do love it but its a bit small for me. The wife was gonna try to learn how to ride it but she would rather ride with me on my bike.
@yamahagytrracing21 LOL I've got too many bikes as it is. I just got the huge honda cruiser and the xr650l, which I think I'm keeping. Since I blew the polaris up I need money to fix that LOL until I can afford to buy a newer quad.
@TheHondaAbuser & origionaldz yea, thats cause hes got nothing better to do but apparently...abuse hondas and trash talk on youtube. but ya know, to each his own.
@Fr0z3nFr0g what the fuck? nothing better to do? trash talk hondas??? wtf! buddy I used to own 2 hondas. And buyin another 1, and how was this trash talking, To each to his own. its funny because I have nothing better to do right? thats because I just spent 8 hours dirtbikin today right? stay out of other peoples buissness and dont reply/.
@TheHondaAbuser im so impressed that you did that today!!! dont reply? really? im just defending a guy whose trying to sell something. there is no need to say shit like you did, its just not necessary. maybe if you would stay out of someone elses business...your on the internet dude...where everything you write can be read and replyed to, dont expect to have everyone agree with what you think.

Try some :"Forever Black" on the plastic bits. It will get rid of the gray junk. I have the same model and year.

@Forensource Where can one purchase forever black? It's not my main bike but it would be nice to tune up the plastic parts again.
