I can't believe I am just finding this on The Tube. As much as I have always loved Bonnie's version; Nancy's sexy, jazzy, sensual presentation takes my mind and heart on a deep and passionate journey. It is amazing to me how she has maintained her gift for so many years. Her sultry voice and her visual beauty has defied the test of time. No one can deny that she is a master at making one feel every word that she so eloquently phrases. She has definately earned the title "Queen of Class".
This is greatness. Nancy Wilson is a treasure. The perfection of her phrasing, the orchestration and her impassioned voice. Wow.......... magic. Thanks for posrting.
Some songs by nature are so deeply full of someone being in pain of sorrow ... yet there is a catchy pull up to listen to them over-and-over. I am most sure there's been many on this Rd.
I had a pair of these shoes...being tight ... only those really know what kinda feeling it is who has been there.
Fantastic song! I love both preformances ... Bonnie's and Nancy's are equal for me... both have their own expression way.
Dear TheReturnOfStephan1, Thank you so much for putting this song on youtube, I love Nancy Wilson and never knew she song this song, do you know who originally made it?She song it with so much feelings and emotions like she was hurting. Thanks again.
@TheReturnOfStephan1 Yes. Nancy does Bonnie soooo proud on this one. Not many remakes come close to the passion of the original. Nancy jazzy vocals really standout w/ this one. Good Job!
Man I absolutely LOVE this song!!!! No one does this song better than Nancy Wilson, not even Bonnie Rait. Now I appreciate her version, but Nancy just owns this one!
This version totally eclipses all other. No contest. Her voice, the emotion and the superb orchestral arrangement cannot be beaten. I adore it. Particularly how she pauses at the "if you don't" part. Marvellous phrasing by true talent.
Simply beautiful! Nancy can put a spin on a song regardless of who sung it first. This song makes you really want to fight for love. If your man walks out after hearing this song from you, then he didn't deserve you at all!
I feel in love with this song about 5 years ago and it really touches your soul... especially if you have dealt with the subject at hand personally. My first love walked out of the door and this was the epitome of how I felt.
Nancy takes this song to a different level then others................I have listen to others remake of this song.......but Nancy leaves it all there............
The slower tempo makes it a sadder song, the sentiment fits more than the Raitt's version. Then again the superb rendition of the 'Power Vocal Acrobat with a strong musical sense that never seems to age' puts it somewhere high.
I love Bonnie for giving us this song. I love love love love love Nancy for singing it. I first heard this song when I bought the album Love, Nancy in the 90s. It is an awesome album. If you like Nancy singing about the joy and pain of love to strings -- then BUY the album.
its great she was invited to be at oprahs legneds ball..although she is so quiet and never hear much about her..her voice speaks for itself..and she was holding her own before..diana aretha dionne tina gladys patti or whitney..very underated Jazz great..ms Nancy if your nasty Wilson. she takes this song away and owns it. thanks bonnie for allowing ms nancy to put her stamp as only she can on this gem. thanks for posting.
