@davefox72 What fan? Too bad you haven't seen the various other DDWFTTW videos. Or even better, you should have been following the progress of the team that built the Blackbird. The first man sized version of this that was piloted to a certified record of 2.8 times the speed of the wind directly downwind.

It might have been better it there were white marks on the treadmill surface to show which way it was moving beneath. Uninformed viewers might not understand which way the treadmill is running.

Thrust will decrease from the prop the faster you go. So moving forward, you'll get less thrust than staying still.

Nice demonstration.

I'm interested to know the thrust the machine can produce. Have you tried adding a force gauge to the string that holds it back?
