Well, I don't think, Gin-chan is a smoker... I have been watching hundred episodes of Gintama, but I haven't seen him smoke(Only some parts in Ginpachi-sensei). ^_^ He's only very much obssessed with sweets, particularly chocolate parfait and ichigo gyunyu XD That's what I love about Gin-chan... XD

If you're confused about "it's so lollied", the actual translation is "because I've been licking it too fast". In Japan, lollipops are called rero rero candy, "rero rero" is the onomatopoeia for rolling something on your tongue like you would a lollipop.

I've seen their One Piece, but is there any reason why Japanese anime producers would make fun of another anime distributer, since no one in Japan had any reason to watch the American version of One Piece made by 4kids? I think this is an original, not a parody.

@Brigade35 well, if Toei handed the rights to 4kids, they'd surely check out how 4kids did, right? and if a little editing was all there is, i dont think toei would be take notice or be bothered, but if they completely BUTCHED the anime toei had spend all that time and effort to create, SURELY they'd notice and be slightly pissed off! in fact, so would Oda-sensei! this might be an original for all we know, but i see no reason why producers wouldnt make fun of such a ridiculous american edit.

@wenzi194 That's not a bad analogy. However, there's a few things that need to be considered. One, would the Japanese audience notice the pun if they knew what it was? If not, then what would the reason be for putting it on the air in the first place, because it's an original and not a pun, maybe? And another thing, in the 4kids version they used a sucker, not a lollipop. And the last thing, even if I'm wrong and it was a pun, wouldn't they mention something about it?

@Brigade35 usually you don't say "this is a pun; laugh!" it's up to the audience whether they get the joke or not :P we often search up news or updates about our favourite animes, right? 4kids made SUCH a mess out of one piece it's normal for the news to be floating around the internet; japanese one piece fans could easily find out about what america did to their favourite show. i mean, we don't live in japan, yet we know what animes are there, so why can't people in japan know a bit about us?

They would either edit them all out or replace it with something that had the same look as a cigarette, like a lollipop stick, or rather call it a lollipop where as they just edited out the smoke.
