  • does anyone know who is the interpreter of this version? Thanks in advance!

  • no one will believe this...i am crying...while humming the song....this is my favorite song ever.i am half japanese, but i left japan so long ago...this song...means so much to me...

  • @AiMariaYamamura Melancholic, this is the power of music. We all have this in us.

Moon Over The Ruined Castle, even the title.

What is stopping you from going back?Family, money, commitment?Always believe you can go back,it(can)be done.Even if you have to be a bit selfish.

Now go listen to something else to snap you out of melancholia.

And good luck, one life to lead.

  • Bellissima atmosfera! Questa musica è carica di magia

  • Splendide musique!

Un printemps de fleurs et de douceur. Les touches légères d'un tableau magique

  • 春日将落、高楼将危、花宴将散、觥筹将尽、昔日光影何處尋。

  • Lyrics to Kojo No Tsuki : Music: R.Taki Lyrics: B.Tsuchii Haru koro no hana no en Meguru sakazuki kagesashite Chiyo no matsu ga e wakeideshi Mukashi no hikari Ima izuko Mukashi no hikari Ima izuko Mukashi no hikari Ima izuko Mukashi no hikari Ima izuko Aki jinei no schimo no iro Nakiyuku kari no kazu misete Uuru tsurugi ni terisoishi Mukashi no hikari ima izuko Ima kojo no yowa no tsuki Kawaranu hikari ta ga tame zo Kaki ni nokoru wa tada kazura Matsu ni uto wa tada arashi
  • do you know where I can download this? i can't find it anywhere

  • Very sad tune. And it is oblivous in every single note that his life is about to end very soon. When I first heard that song I suddenly felt that its author (on that time, unknown to me) died young... and when I discovered Rentaro Taki's biography I realized how close to truth was my 1st impression.

  • @memmori1 somewhere I came across the lyrics and a translation into English, it's very much a nostalgic spooky sort of song. remembering better times when the narrator gathered with friends and raised their cups together. It's always felt a little like a ghost story to me.

  • Beautiful.

  • Quiet, haunting, like an arrow through my heart.

  • And yet, I still listen to real music, I can feel the deep thought of songs like these, but I think I just don't belong here. Don't worry about your english, its good enough to understand.

  • This is so beautiful. I love it:) the music for time period and before is amazing,

    Really, fucking amazing.

  • VERY GOOD, TRY THE ONE ON LYRICHORD CD FOR PROBABLY THE DEFENITIVE RECORDING

  • ↑Sorry fo my poor English, and unappropriate words I might have written. A Japanese

  • @pn25711131 It's Indeed very deep, touching song. And I think it's not connected to nationality and place where you have been born. It all depends on who you are. Look at me, I am Pole, I was born in place what you can say is a slums, everyone here, without few persons whom I'm friend with, are just.. too stupid, their lifes is only drinking and other bad things.

  • I really like this kind of profound, melancholy music or song of Japan rather than rock, pop and that sort of things.(But i also love rock, pop, and so on) Each country has it's own charactaristics, of course. And this feeling of sadness in this kind of music might be unique to Japan. It's not that people in other country do not get sad. Maybe Western peple also share this feeling, but may have few chance to encounter this "sadness" on music in daily life. I'm so happy for you to appreciation

  • Japan, I pray for you! Armenia is with you! You are incredible amazing nation.... I love you so much...so much....for the days of earthquake and tsunami I was almost dead.. I had the pain in me with you....Be strong!!!!

  • This song inspired me to start up writing again, never before have I heard a song that both made me fell emotions of Joy and Sadness on such a large scale level. there are few songs that can bend the will of human emotions like this, and fell no shame in saying that I cried when I heard this song. Who were the tow people who disliked this song?

  • my favourite classical music by japanese composer !!!!

  • ドラマ「坂の上の雲」で広瀬中佐がロシア人の恋人にピアノ演奏してもらった曲。本当に美しい曲だと思う。(Rentaro Taki 1879–1903)

  • That's beautiful! My heart is heavy for their losses and suffering...My prayers are for their safety and for strength they most certainly will need.

  • That's beautiful!

  • 11 March 2011...Pray For Japan...God Save Japan...Please.!!!!!

  • Thumbs up if you like relaxing in the room and listening Kojo no Tsuki :D

  • is it just me or does this sound kind of similar to the 'love theme' in the godfather movie?

  • @cartoonsfut Yes it is.

  • 懐かしい^^

    学校で習ったな~

  • @bimmyby3

  • so nice ))

know that melody from an aikido video

  • This is such a beautiful piece! Rentaro Taki, the composer, died aged only 23. Imagine what other pieces he could have composed had he lived longer!

  • I had a wonderful honor to playied this song with the Taiyo Ongakutai Brass Band here in Brazil. It is the favourite one of Professor Josei Toda, the 2nd mentor of Soka Education.

  • lovely, gentle work.

  • BTW: Kazuo Yamada is also a wonderful composer. Lullaby from the Chugoku Area is a beautiful piece. x

  • Beautiful. Thank you SO MUCH! I have been looking for this track for such a long time. I heard it many moons ago, wrote it down and have been searching ever since. You have made my day.

  • @DarkRaimundo I thank you a thousand times and more for that you uploaded it!

  • @SeimeN131 It's the first song from Rentaro Taki that I knew, about 40 years ago, and I love it as I loved at the first time. It's amazingly sweet!

  • Wonderful! It is my loved song.

  • Really beautiful music!!!!

Strangely, it reminds me of a piece by Ventures called EXPO70 (--- I think). I think ventures piece was based on this melody. Any info will be greatly appreciated (I never did find EXPO 70 by ventures, btw).
