Have you guys heard of shell pyramiding? Well I think my turtle might be developing it. It eats a lot, especially during the Summer. I feed it pellets, sometimes goldfish, sometimes shrimp. Should I feed it less of those or choose something else to feed it?
I have a turtle since December 2008 but she hasn't grown at all. I thought she was just a baby but now i'm not sure? is there some sort of food pellet that will help her grow larger?
Are you sure your turtle is eating? Try staying in the room with her when it's feeding time to make sure she eats. If she isn't eating, the water may be too cold. The water should be between 78 degrees fahrenheit and 80 degrees fahrenheit.
How long is your turtle? It might not have grown because some species of turtles only get to a certain size. Do you know the species of the turtle?
She always eats whatever I put in her tank which is carrots, mealworms and feeder fish(minnows). She even follows my finger hoping there is food on it when I stick it in (she never bites). It is a red eared slider turtle.
Does Petco sell Reptomin and is it expensive cause my aunt bought my turtle. My parents didn't/don't want it so I have to pay for everything and I'm only 13 so I can't get it if its more than like, 3 dollars. 5$ max cause I don't get an allowance(I save my lunch money)
I found my rescue turtle in an over crowded container in a pet store the guy that was working there said some parents dropped them off cause the kids weren't taking care of them, niether was the pet store, they had 5 or 6 quarter sized babies in a cool whip container it was good day for me to walk in cause I had been looking for a red eared slider & done all the leg work on how to care for & feed him, red earedsliders are not good pets for children & they live 30 yrs!
ohmygosh it's so little! i rescued mine too, my little brothers used to keep him in this weeny container with another turtle. now he has a humongous tank, i have a video or two of it if you wanna see.
what do you think of my turtle? shes 19years old. theres a vid on my channel somewhere lol

I'm not really sure if there is a food pellet that helps turtles grow larger. But I recommend Reptomin for all water turtles

yes, petco sells it, it comes in a green container with a yellow cap and usually has a picture of a dark turtle in the front label.
i've seen petsmart have better prices than petco, so u might want to try there, too.
