MS PAYNE has to be one of the most Talented and BEAUTIFUL Women To WALK THE EARTH. She's had quite a career and amazes me how SHE can still Move Her Beautiful Body all over the stage when SHE Performs NOW!
I LOVE this song. Freda was the GIRL for Invictus Records. She was just fantastic and the arrangements and the background voices and the MUSIC was just fantastic. A classmate in high school gave me the Contact album and I was HOOKED on Freda from that day in 1972 to now.
Surely! You made that connection and there was no looking back.Mine started with the 45rpm record"Band of Gold'.Moms brought it home one day and I couldn't get enough of it! I've been a true fan ever since!"Contact"the album is a legendary work of art that comprised much of Freda Payne's greatest music.Another point I'm glad you expressed that is so relevant is the production style and backup vocal support of Freda's song's.These elements were incorporated perfectly(mainly Invictus)to her voice.
Contact is a great album. I have a copy myself. I have a US pressing with poster still intact.
The New Zealand release has a mis press or whatever you call it. Instead of "He's In My Life" , it has "Bring The Boys Home" instead. The cover says "He's In My Life" but the record itself has "Bring The Bous Home". and playing it confirms this. There are a few / occasional 60's and 70's LP's like that. Perhaps there was a moral issue with that song and NZ companies pulled it ??
BTW: Can't remember exactly where "He's In My Life" was supposed to be. Possibly last track on side 2. But "Bring The Boys Home" was definitly in it's place. All the other tracks were correct though!
There was also an NZ 45 release "Through The Memory Of My Mind" / "He's In My Life" on Invictus.
excellent arrangement and vocals... I dare say HDH could really outdo Motown when they put their mind to it

What a beautiful and unique voice plus brains and body.
Such a classy lady. New Divas can't touch Ms. Payne
and they need to take lessons from her.

I like Freda's version better than the Barinno Brother's version, which came out later.

Yeah thanks from me too. I've just listened to it 4 times in a row while typing up some emails etc,
This song makes me want to hit the dance floor. This would go down great at the disco.
