Some deep thinkers at Line6. This is very cool. I get confused with Bus/sends returns etc. This could make my life easier. We'll see how it sounds. $2500 for a 20ch board with a lot of processors is not too bad,
how does this compare to the studiolive in terms of quality of preamps and gates and the whole shebang? I was about to pull the trigger and get a studiolive, but I want to know how good this is
@TheRedEyeChannel From the specs of both, they seem similar in quality and capability, they just do their mixing in a different way. The M2d seems like garageband on the iPad, while the studiolive is designed like a traditional mixer. So it will probably come down to interface preferences for buyers.
My dislike of line6 (due to variax usb device win7-64bit support) has been nullified by this as i love innovation. I'd love this in software. They seem to have understood how touchscreens should be used. Not to control a bunch of faders! X/Y is the deal :) Toneboosters EZQ equalizer also uses X/Y which is great as you just listen for the sound you want and don't have to tweak whatever frequency and width etc.

@vileguile
I completely agree... Back in the day you grabbed something to tweak and used your ears! X/Y editing works well for this.

So does moving the instruments around on the stage change the panning of the inputs? I think that would be really awesome.
