@drc1981 Is is, however, and optical illusion created by a staggered formation; i.e., the P-51 must be a good fifty feet nearer than the F-22 (don't forget that the latter is comparatively massive - the size of a Second World War bomber), the F-22 must be nearer than the F-15, and the F-15 must be nearer than the A-10. Otherwise, they would be sucked into one another by each's wingtip vortexes (and the three jets would likely choke one another for oxygenated air).
im not saying that its better because of that but they make sure that the crews can run it at the most possible ever they dont have alot of "Greenhorns" working the thing and yes it is it doesnt have machine guns its a long range fighting aircraft
they scrapped the CV-6 enterprise to come out with the CV(n)-enterprise which can easily carry out night operations and can hold more f-18 super hornets and hornets plus they updated the catapults
Why is there even a discussion over the F-15? Over 100 enemy aircraft shot down with no combat losses? Sorry, but I don't think even the F-22 will do that good.
on every other topic i agree however the F-22 i do see as a first strike weapon to take out aircraft and clear the way for planes like the F-15 and F-16
The military channel recently had a "Top 10 fighters of all time" program, and #1 was the P-51 Mustang, and #2 the F-15 Eagle, so you got it exactly right. Good job.
Very nice vid; an old friend of mine was a P-51 Mustang pilot in the war; he said he could get it up to 500 mph, but it shook "really bad" at that point, haha Simply amazing.
Haha, yea I can see that one being pretty bad. I love how all the vids on the "Soviet military parades" and the Soviet national anthems always turns into a communism/anti-communism debate, how the Soviets stopped the Nazis better than the Brits and US, etc....
I agree with the F-15 but as for the P-51 no way!!! By the time the 51 came along in early 44 the P-38 n P-47 had already taken out most of the German air force. Its best thing was its range. And in the Pacific the Corsair, Hellcat, and the previously meantioned two, along with the Wildcat and P-40 had definately wiped out Japanese aviation.
Not true. The P-51 had more enemy kills than any other U.S. fighter in WWII. The P-51 didn't come in in 44, it came in 43 in the midst of the aerial conflict. The closest fighter to it was the F6F Hellcat. The P-51 made it's mark in Europe... thay were not used in the Pacific until our forces took Iwo Jima. The P-51 also went against much more experienced pilots. Japan's vets had already pretty much been wiped out. The Hellcat still doesn't come within 5,000 kills anyway.
The P-47 actually outscored the Mustang in Europe for sheer number of aircraft destroyed-the 56th alone had over 1,006 confirmed kills of German aircraft-the Mustang was a phenomenal aircraft when it came to dog-fighting, but very fragile-giving it a poor kill-to-loss ratio.
The Mustang has a 30:1 kill ratio... although it is very fragile. As far as air to air kills the Mustang has an estimated 10,000 enemy kills mainly in Europe. The aircraft that takes second is the Hellcat with 7,000.
"P-47s flew more than 546,000 combat sorties between March 1943 and August 1945, destroying 11,874 enemy aircraft, some 9,000 locomotives, and about 6,000 armored vehicles and tanks. Only 0.7 per cent of the fighters of this type dispatched against the enemy were lost in combat. As a testament to the survivability of the P-47, it should be noted that the top ten aces who flew the P-47, returned home safely". "American Mustangs destroyed 4,950 enemy aircraft in Europe"-Aviation History
Right on, don't you love how every video dealing with military equipment or another countries national anthem always turns into a superiority debate and a political debate?
the raptor has a thrust vectoring engine( it's engine can move up and down making it very monuverable) It has supercruise(can go supersonic speeds without using afterburners) it stealthy, and it has better avionics then any plane.
Naaaaaaahhhhh ya think? I mean, the F-15 is only been in service for like what, close to 50 years? And the P-51, well hell, its avionics should be able to kick the shit out of an F-22...
I respect your opinion, but I disagree. Think of it this way, would you rather have a 1972 Chevy Corvette with a modern engine and everything else being nearly 40 years old, or a brand new 2009 Corvette completely built from scratch using modern thinking, components, and technology. The 2009 would be above and beyond a '72 Vette regardless of upgrades done. All things must progress, and the F-22 will rule the skies for a long time.

how do you dare use "danger song", it's almost the theme of the F-14, not F-15 or P-51

the f-22 can take out 15 f-15's without being seen by it there is so many hi-tech objects in the cockpit it can hit at 2x the f-15s range

true but thats only what the machine can do, dogfighting comes down to the pilots who fly these machines and even the best can fall

p_51 is my fav plane. If i had a choice 2 own a civilian versionOf either id pick the P-51D to fly around in on weekends..
cobraC510 2 years ago
What were the aircraft markings at 3:00 ?
The P-51 could take the heavies all the way to Berlin...beat the Luftwaffe over it's own turf and return.
Why is there even a discussion?
I will admit the Air Force was regretting not having any P-47N's left for ground support in the Korean War and was forced to use the P-51.

schorch6200,
and................the F-15 is the only jet fighter to have successfully landed with one wing gone!
I believe that finishes any discussion except from those from the East who are so awestruck by their MiG-29's and Su-27's.
I still don't know why the USAF didn't go foward with the 'active" Eagle and put it into production.
Perhaps with the F-22 cuts...maybe be an idea?
rampking1 2 years ago
Sometimes I don't understand half the things the military does. I.E.: M16, Beretta M9, USS Enterprise. Need I go on?
scorch6200 2 years ago
Hmm, I am curious why you mentioned the USS Enterprise...
I am hoping you are refering to the scrapping of the great carrier from WWII ? The only carrier to survive the war with a unbelievable combat record.

I am indeed referring to Enterprise CV-6. One of the few ships that should still exist.
