A great amp can make any guitar sound decent. Unless you fucking suck at EQ'ing. This is a demo. If you want to resemble a shitty tone, do it on a shitty amp with your other shitty gear. The 6505 is a piece of fucking work though, show it some respect, push the volume up and learn to buy a mic, and please add in some fucking mids. You literally, have your mids so low that live you'd be completely inaudible and worthless.
@CasualDiscussion Perhaps it's not the sound but you do not have a word to say about That. I mean the music you do is emo / videogame shit. you can not come after that (like a guy Who know something about music) and blast HIM as if it was the worst musician ever seen on youtube
@greatestgatsby Dimebag has a great fucking tone, and you didnt really play the riff at the beginning correct at all. I have never heard this amp sound this bad. oh wait, its not the amp.. its you.
th reason the tone sucks is because duncan designed jackson pickups are fucking junk. i have a 6505 and i bought a warrior and it sounded so junk untill i changed the pickups. i have bill lawrance pickups in my vintage kramer and it sounds so much meaner it unbelieveable
I watch a lot of amp & pedal demo vid's by regular people using quality product's & having quality playing skill's, but it always sound weak, because of a webcam mic or direct- in. What they need is a good instrument (dynamic) mic. You can pick one up for about $100.00 Then your gear will sound good & people won't leave bad comment's.
@StupidMusician Slipknot uses orange cabs, if you can pay for them and you typically play dirty or cleans just at the point of breakup there is nothing better imo.
I was shocked to discover the differences between orange cabs and others, if you perform with cabs get a great one, if you plug directly into a PA forget about a 412 you'll get better results with a mic'ed smaller cab
It's the Vintage 30's, I have a 6505+ and it sounds like shit with those speakers. With GREENBACKS or G12T75's it's sounds more Warm, Articulate & Less Middy. Have to be careful with the 5150/6505 Speaker choices. I have RECTO 212 that I pulled out the V30's & Put in 2 G12T75's
g12t75s in my marshall 1960A sounded really bad with my 5150 II. It was just too much treble and too thin sounding. a lot of the construction of the cab makes a difference to the woofing chunk noise that the cab creates. its a beast. i personally do not like the g12t75s
you could get a hell lot more out of the really nice gear you have, im stuck with an epiphone sg and a marshall dsl401 combo and i can still get most tones spot on with just tweaking of the eq's and pickup/tone pot slection.
You should definitely work on your timing, all the Pantera riffs here, you played in some odd time signature and the in between licks where not in time.
I would be easy on this guy about the mids. I find most marshalls and my splawn sound good with higher mids. My 5150 just seemed to loose its bite with any mids over 4 or so. The voicing on 5150's is more boogie-like. The recording on the other hands is not the best so lets take that into account. The nature of vintage 30's seems to be more of everyone is describing. Lets be positive people... if you don't like the tone then make your own video. Bashing someone else's work is stupid.
The obvious lack of mids makes this great amp sound like complete crap. I'm not trying to be a dick, I'm just blunt by nature. Please boost your mids to at least 6 for a great metal sound. I know the whole scooped mid thing is popular, but imo you should buck the trend and search for a better sound.
Yeah...not trolling or anyhting, but I bet that tone sounds like total crap. Mids are what give you all of the clarity and shaping in your tone. If you play sloppy then it's better not to have the mids up, but it will just sound like mush with a ridiculously annoying high tone.
well socal doesn't really narrow it down, but if you are near san diego there is a store in Mission Valley called The Blue Guitar. They have a great selection of Orange. They have the best selection of classical guitars if you are a student of classical guitar.
mate do you want me to tell you the truth or sugarcoat it for you, you dont have much feel at all on guitar and ill post some recordings from my bands ep when we finish it
people just like to spend all the money before they learn to play. i played on 1x12 line6 amps and a low end ibanez for 6 years. now im shredding though my 5150.
and its not that greatestgatsby is bad, he just plays like a robot. learn to relax when you play and you will sound much smoother and tighter.

@greatestgatsby because it was 100 bucks for that, i mainly got it for the cab playin my dk2 through a b52, next up.. 6505+ through british made v30s
littlewahoo27 1 year ago
@littlewahoo27, Dimebag has a shitty tone, deal with it.
You also seem to have a CRATE (Can't Really Afford The Equipment) amp, and you're sitting on the floor playing emocore songs, jesus.

@EnsiGeetard because the fact that i own a crate that i dont even use is definitely looked down upon, right?
