@Kilroytheknifesnob actually i think you have it wrong. On the pendant arm, he places the flame to the front of the arm, allowing the heat to rise along side the arm. On the arm without the pendant, he places the flame directly under the arm, the the full heat of the flame is felt.

I am skeptical about this but I'll have to admit it does something weird. Try standing in place, raise you right or left hand horizontally at 90 degrees with your body and do a thumbs up sign. Then twist clockwise or counter clockwise and try to go as far as you can. Then do it again with the pendant. Remember to not move your feet so that the experiment would be fair. Me and 7 of my friends could twist an extra foot or so with the pendant.

One twist without, then twist back, pendant in hand, twist again, and we could go a full foot further. Really weird shit. At least that proves the flexibility claims. We tried the balance and strength tests but I guess we could not do it right. Since I cannot deny the results of the flexibility test, I guess it would not hurt to try it.
