Very cool. I like your blue ribbon idea. You have many nice hidden meanings. Some of your arts are among the best I've seen. I don't know maybe I'm wrong, but according to "When the Mind Hears" book that Abbe Sicard allowed Dr. Itard to have experiments on helpless Deaf kids' ears and led a few of them to death. Sicard didn't protect these kids. I don't think Sicard is a hero for our Deaf community?
AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME - this is the BEST video i have seen explaining Deaf art because u add text and LIGHTING and CIRCLES etc to signify different things in the works - REALLY AWESOME thank u so much for doing this
Ya hoo soon u and your ART will come to NTID again. Always LOVE to see the original artworks hanging and get to spend time with them up close and personal. U too smile look forward to visiting w/ u and Warren. Viva De'VIA! and Viva Nancy Rourke!
@pdurr Thank you so much! There is one certain type of light blue-grayish color that I put in very few paintings, because it is THAT color, meaning 'Deafhood' and I take my own journey to another painting. Examples shown in paintings: 'See, Hear, Speak No Deaf', 'Dandelion,' 'Tales from a Clubroom' and 'Deaf Values Taken.' This vlog is just a beginning of Understanding De'VIA work.
@deafchipmunk Thank you, Deafchipmunk! The video runs abit fast and hard to catch the wordings, but it can be played over again. I plan on doing another De'VIA vlog. This vlog is a start.
thank you for this video- very educational, and your art is very inspiring, even to me, a hearie! :)
