not enough people have watched the 'Making Flippy Floppy' video from "Stop Making Sense"... if you like this, then you'll like that video too.... i promise!
a word of advice for aspiring bands , keep the camera guy away from the cocaine . seems like weymouth and byrne didnt appreciate belews minute in the spotlight there . i heard when they brought him in the told him , "just do your guitar freak-out thing " , what did they expect ? what a sound they made , as a whole !
This is great, and I am very sorry to recognize that Yoko Ono has something to do with, that crazy bitch! I hate her music, and I love Talking Heads, but they are clearly related.
I just don't get the whole Talking Heads thing. I've tried. They look weird, sound weird, just not in a good way ... Bill Bailey said this was brilliant ... but it's not.
@Nautilus1972 Pity (that you don't get it). It's a good thing to get. This is where new wave, funk, African music, guitar pyschosis, jazz, geek and cool collide. Magnificently
god damn adrian's the fuckin man...during a time when u had to have the skill to match the effects man his playing pretty much is an effect in itself...
I think the dance rythm is unbelievable. Each of the musicians contribute to the song like a jazz or fusion band. These guys were on a major high in this performance. It just makes you dance and get lost in its performance and sound. Yes, the camera work sucks but it means nothing compared to the bands performance.
I always listen to this song when I need some energy, it makes me throw my chair and move myself onto this phenomenal rhythm! It's wonderful and none of these newer songs make me so dynamic as this song. Gotta love TH.
The best line up ever! What a pity that the director had no idea where the amazing sounds were coming from - hence the random band shots during Adrian Bellew's solos. Anyone have the BBC Old Grey Whistle Test footage with Belew?

Music is a matter of taste; there are clearly no "should"s about it.
Your taste is what it is, and it's no less valid than anyone else's. You don't have to answer to anyone for it.
But because of that, you do need to recognize that "you don't like it" ≠ "not brilliant."

He also performed on Talking Head's "Remain in Light" and "The Name of this band is..."
He also worked with Frank Zappa and a bunch of others, including 3 Nine Inch Nails albums!
