This song is really about religion. I mean, Lennon sang out it in Imagine. It's so true... the only way you can achieve peace is without religion and the separation it allows and calls for. I also love how he sings Merry Christmas, because America is mostly a Christian society and with all it's talk of kindness and loving their neighbors, we can be rather ruthless. It makes you stop and wonder about Christmas and it's true meaning of the person it represents.
