  • Welded aluminum takes maintenance like all planes. Rivets get replaced, wood rots, steel rusts. Just part of owning an aircraft. Maintenance! Just sell ready to fly. No kit.

  • price for kit?

  • @0851481111 25.000 - 30 000 $

It depends on motor, I mean what motor you wanna use and do you want it with trailer or not. It's not so cheap if you think that you can buy it easy.

  • how far can it fly?

  • The take the original 40 hp and up it to 50 with a lot of internal changes and new cam, carb, heads, pistons and other stuff. Hell of an engine and FOUR STROKE.

  • how much do the cost.

  • @TheWisey1234 @TheWisey1234 It depends on how you want it. With or without custom trailer. Either way, the plane comes complete ready to fly. No construction needed.

  • do you need a licence for one

  • Nope.. as a legal ultralight, you do not need a license to fly this plane. BUT... Anyone thinking of doing this SHOULD TAKE SOME LESSONS FROM A Certified Flight Instructor. I can't emphasize this enough. Just like the quote from the test pilot that flew the first Piper J-3. "this plane can just barely kill you." No matter how slow they fly or how light they are, they can still kill you.

  • nice video, good pilot, thx

  • Now I thank-you for the info but now I'm interested in what type of V-twin and how it's mounted and how the cooling is controlled Any more information would helpful .and more on the aircraft it's self Thank You , dochelp1m .

  • It looks like a 1/2 V WW and that would be legal .

  • @dochelp1m

Actually it's a Valley Engineering Big Twin. V-Twin, 4 stroke, 40 hp or you can upgrade it to a 50 hp.

  • @dstarks1943 How is the 50 hp upgrade accomplished? Is it the same engine just tweeked a little?

Looks like a great set up.

  • @dstarks1943 Is that a single-pin crank, I wonder? I thought I heard the engine doing a "potato-potato-potato" like a Harley. Impressive. BTW, how's the Taube?

  • Extremely cool ultralight. I love the sound of that throaty

4 stroke compared to those whining 2 strokes. Will it be at Sun 'n Fun this year?

  • I just looked it up and at its debut at oshkosh it was going for about $20,500 or in that area. Personally, i think its an awesome little plane, but for the capacity, and not even having dooes or anything, plus kind of a lagged response, that is a little pricey.

  • how much

  • not much hay work getting done in the field...... and I can see why. Its ok to play like this if the work is done first.

  • @richarrrdj , I can see a row of round bales, and it looks like the next cutting is not ready.

  • wow he took off like it was nothin man.. it must be the airfoil

  • That and a very large slow-turning prop. AT least that's what Gene Smith told me makes the difference.

  • very nice ....what is the engine??

  • It's a vanguard series briggs and stratton 35 hp that they have done a nice job of modifying. sounds better than the 2-strokes and the cost works out better.

  • Actually, its' NOT a B & S engine. It is from a Generac Power Systems Heavy Duty Generator.

  • Comment removed

  • right, sounds good on video but a tad noisy with straight pipes. Was great to see it flying at EAA this year again!

  • where did u get it

  • I notice a real thick airfoil towards the middle section where the prop air flow is.

My main concern is the welding. Not if ! but when ? welds will crack. Any porosity will eventaully give way to corrosion which will cause premature fractures. Anything that vibrates will cause cracks, gauranteed!

    Crack= crash and burn!

  • @cmartman48 what is the solution do you suggest?

  • jajajaja que avion tan intereante, que modelo es,que motor trae? el piloto lo disfruta mucho, gracias por el video.

  • Too bad they don't offer it as a plans built ultralight as well. It's simpy too expensive for what it does to buy as ready to fly.

  • do u need some kinda licens to drive theat thing like if i made one would i have to get some kinda of licens????

  • No, it's part 103 legal, meaning you can fly without a license. But that doesn't mean you should not get trained...it's a matter of life and death, no matter how many flight simulators you've played. You won't know how to manage in crosswinds and emergency landings. So you don't need a license, but I suggest that you get trained, specially if you don't know the difference between "flying" and "driving" (no offense, it's a joke!)

  • yea, sport or recreactional liscence

  • Man.. that's a tall one. I can't think of any way your could build a LEGAL UL with a VW engine in it. Maybe someone else can answer this for you. My Nieuport weighs 470 lbs empty with it's VW. Even the Nieuports using Rotax engines can't make US legal UL weight.

  • hey, im building an ultralight to owith a 1200 cc FULL vw engine, any tips?

  • how much you pay for it?? Please reply because i really want one thanks....

Oh and by the way.. nice flight:)

  • is this as safe as..lets say a phanton ultralight?

  • Well... Like any plane, it can be stalled and if you do it at low altitude.. you're out of luck. But you can see from the video that it's a very docile aircraft. Watch for the article about it in the January Kitplanes magazine.

  • so it comes with a ballistic chute right? so it can be deployed fast for a "safe" crash landing? and how much could i pick this exact model up for?

  • Now that, that is a nice STOL Ultralight!

    Good Landings/Take-offs

    Good Job!!

  • Better yet, the wings fold in less than 2 minutes from ready to push in the trailer to ready to fly.

  • How much ? and is there a waiting list?

  • very nice! Is it a kit?

  • Nope.. you get it ready to fly. With everything you see listed.

    Dickiedoo

  • wow very cool...if i wasn't already building a Nieuport 17 this might be the ticket!

  • 3 axis?

  • A farmers dream. Heck, my yard is is over 200ft wide and we've only got like 2 acres. Too bad it's covered with trees, but you get my point. They named it well, me want.

  • Hey.. thanks.. as far as I'm concerned, the flying is great but the wing rotation is the real selling point. No more hangar rent and just store it in a pole barn. What a deal!!

  • True enough. It really is a back yard flyer. Pretty amazing, really.
