Fuck this game. Lost Planet 1 was epic, this game is a fucking joke, it makes no sense. I was playing on easy, just to enjoy the graphics then I get to the train stage, and just said fuck it. It's just not fun, it's fucking gay. WHY? WHY? WHY? DID THE SHITHEAD DEVELOPERS FUCK WITH A WINNING FORMULA!?
@Machammerballs I take it back best this boss and can't stop playing, I'm alost to the end and will replay at normal difficulty - Why didn't this game get more love, I still love the first one better but I'm an older guy and these games take me back to playing all these rad arcade games in pizza parlors, arcades, 7-11s etc - Would love a lost planet 3 - sadly that aint happenning
does anyone have a video that shows the different cannon shells idk how i did it but some how i did a bigger blast it looked like a nuke and idk if it was energize and idk the name of the shell i think one of the AI loaded it i think it was a dragon something, and i know what some of the shells do but idk if their is more kinds the Devil Roar does a shotgun type shot, the cobalt does a normal blast, and the armor per. shells don't seam to do a blast but it still hurt the cat. G though its skin

id say this as a advice 2 any 1 that is NEW to this:
-First try 2 use th gun battery 2 destory the red shell like Candy coating 2 get 2 the juicy part of RED EYE.
-2 IF u r playing online and some 1 eles gets the gun before u or u get the cannon then after the shells r GONE on RED eye, start BALSTING the JUCY part of RED EYE when the red shells r ALL gone on both sides.
But keep in mind that when at least 1 or 2 Juicy part of RED EYE is left Turn the canno behind just in case he shows up behind
@ModernGermanWarfare Thats probably what they based it on, both are railway guns requireing two tracks with cranes for loading ammunition, and nearly identical superstructures.
Possibly one of the best co-op games I've played. Especially this mission, it was a bit tough and we all got a bit confused as to what to do, but with a bit of video game logic (run around the entire area finding interactive bits) we managed to figure out how to work the cannon and obliterate the boss. The feeling of the last moments of the battle, desperately hammering away at the rotation switch and yelling your friend to "FIRE!" the shot to end the fight is incredible. So sad it didn't sell.
yes i had difficulty with this boss, after the train was about to blow up i realised you had to shoot the things on the side but i had difficulty with the end 1 :)
Whoa whoa whoa,was that marcus phoenix I saw. It is pretty funny how instead of shooting with the lancer he shoots with the lost planet machine gun. I have only played part 1 of this game and I just have to let the elephant out of the closet, what kind of giant dildo did the guy pick up at the beggining of the video that can shoot like some sort cannon? Sorry for asking but you know what they say, curiosity killed the cat but not the human.
On a side note you could always move the main cannon to face back and have it loaded and ready to go for the final hit.
This mission can be complete in less than 5mins if done correctly. Even if you are the only person attacking from the side cannons and there's a bunch of noobs fiddling around with the main cannon leaving you to final hit the cat-g with a couple special rockets or even the VS sniper cannon. And when I say special rockets I mean the short range high explosive ones.
Here's some tips to make this go a hell of a lot faster on any difficulty.
Use the side cannons, I can't stress enough how much easier it is to kill this boss with just the side cannons.
You do not need to final hit the cat-g with the cannon. Infact you never actually require the main cannon at all. It's a lot faster to use the side cannons and for the last hit simply fire rockets into it's mouth. This mission is both my favorite and easiest.

Also everyone if your wondering what the strange crane at the back of the cannon does, right at the start of the battle, go to the crane and simply tap B, it loads a specialized "Wrath" shell into the cannon, which is more powerful than any other shell, you can do this for all 3 shells if you like, but if your playing with the AI then they will try to load standard cobalt shells into the train so its a process of timing

@SyedNihalZaidi you have to shoot him a lot, its a process of trial and error, i can help if you like, if your on the xbox my GT is Effectivezach, thats also my psn name but im not as far on the ps3 version yet

@xxXpitboyXxx cobalt is the standard shell and does less damage, devils roar is more of an incendiary shell and will create a black hole in the worm intead of an orange spot
One more thing, like I'm playing the PC, to avoid from taking any damage when the monster ramp to the train, simply use the anchor ability and hang yourself inside the train for instance. I find that, such shakes on the train by the monster won't harm you at all as you're hanging with your anchor.
I,ve noticed u dont move the cannon only with the "manual" rotation device they put in the game - I'm not sure how it is on XBOX but on PC you can actually just move the cannon left and right with the mouse - it takes a few seconds but lol thats what i did - made my day easy..
lol dont wanna sound arrogant but i did this one-shot on medium difficulty - gotta admit i got spooked when i saw the picture of the train in the right i both realized it has somthing to do with killing the boss and got me wonderd what is it exaclly then i just improvised - my train almost exploded but finally got him with a shot straight to the mouth =p
Just play careful,repair the train as soon as its about 50%, stay in the cannon when the akrid hits the train don't rely on AI too much and the most important thig is to bring as much patience as you have to this mission. I didnt get too lucky in circling the cannon, since I still find it difficult to predict where its gonna show up but you may have a better eye there. The whole mission took me 49 mins and 19 seconds. I died about 4-5 times in total.
I Fucking bought this game and played the game in one day til this point IT HAS BEEN A MONTH AND I STILL HAVENT FUCKING COPLETED THIS LEVEL!. What the fuck was on the fucking game makers fucking head when they fucking made this fucking level. man it's just fukking frustrating. It's good if a game is hard, but this is just an unfair fight. Time after time i get killed or fall of the train, but then the fight with that monster not begin anew, but you have to play te whole mission from the beginning. And that takes about 15 minutes before you get to that monster again. Even after seeing this clip it won't work. I have stopped playing this game at this point, and now i waiting for gears of war 3. Those capcom fools don' match with epic.
@feyenoordman1 hmm thats weird - i know how u feel i also dropped a few games for just not being able to pass specific points but this fight was somewhat not very hard to me - i killed the boss in about 10-11 minutes but it was a first shot, i see many people here suffer from the same thing but I dont know i just felt the same with other games not this one so far its been pretty easy on medium difficulty i almost never loose..

WARNING: This is 100% impossible. There is absolutely no way to complete the game on Hard difficulty. "Super Soldier" achievement is confirmed fake. It's true. No one can complete Lost Planet 2 on Hard. It's inhuman. No one is good at this game. Not even Capcom staffs. Not even Japanese players. This is a virus in the program.
@MasterOfBastards whatever man i finished the game on Extreme and got the achievement. btw if anyone who finished this game and didn't get the achievement it's because u didn't go to the hidden route in Episode 1 Chapter 2 it's in the very beggining behind the tree it's like a cave.

@Troo44 i think actually one of my AI 's actually put a shell in my canon - the rest was done by me ofcourse - runing down extinguishing the fire then back up to fire the cannon
@BandIt1861 Its a skin you unlock for having a save file from gears of war. Only on xbox. After you beat the game once, wether solo or multiplayer, you can use your custom characters for the campaign, thats why theres Marcus, and the girl with her ass hangin out in the video.
@BandIt1861 You don't actually need the save. That is just what everyone Believes. You need to beat the Game to unlock Dom and Marcus. You need from different games to unlock Frank West and Wesker.
@FluffyQuack Do you know the difference Between the Cobalt and the Devil Roar Bullets? You can get the Wrath Bullets from the Crane on the Cannon if you put the Cannon in the Home Position. (Starting Position.) The Wrath Bullets Do the work of 2 Cobalts if you shoot it at the Cat-G's Red Spots. The AI never Gave Me the Chance to Fire Devil Roar.(1 Devil Roar is in the are with the coolants and more are at the back of the cannon under the crane.
@FluffyQuack Unlike Most Belief, The Wrath Armor Piercing Shells, A.K.A Wrath is the most Accesible bullets there is without running around like a psyco.
@Heds123 When you replay the story, you can use custom characters in story missions. That player simply used a female character skin that replaced the original skin.
Looking at your video, you don't mention the armor piercing bullets. Though if you are playing with the AI then you likely will never get a chance to use them. Also, you kind of showed that the charged shot does make a diffrence. Fully Charged (shows gold) cobalt shell on an uncovered weak spot did a ton more damage then a normal shell.
except for mouth animations the marcus skin fit pretty well......but im still glad i have a ps3 so i can get the helghast skins they are going to be awsome

I do like this: get the armor percing rounds from the crane energize them and when you shot of those things it blows a big hole directly.

I Fucking bought this game and played the game in one day til this point IT HAS BEEN A MONTH AND I STILL HAVENT FUCKING COPLETED THIS LEVEL!. What the fuck was on the fucking game makers fucking head when they fucking made this fucking level. man it's just fukking frustrating. It's good if a game is hard, but this is just an unfair fight. Time after time i get killed or fall of the train, but then the fight with that monster not begin anew, but you have to play te whole mission from the beginning. And that takes about 15 minutes before you get to that monster again. Even after seeing this clip it won't work. I have stopped playing this game at this point, and now i waiting for gears of war 3. Those capcom fools don' match with epic.

@feyenoordman1 hmm thats weird - i know how u feel i also dropped a few games for just not being able to pass specific points but this fight was somewhat not very hard to me - i killed the boss in about 10-11 minutes but it was a first shot, i see many people here suffer from the same thing but I dont know i just felt the same with other games not this one so far its been pretty easy on medium difficulty i almost never loose..

WARNING: This is 100% impossible. There is absolutely no way to complete the game on Hard difficulty. "Super Soldier" achievement is confirmed fake. It's true. No one can complete Lost Planet 2 on Hard. It's inhuman. No one is good at this game. Not even Capcom staffs. Not even Japanese players. This is a virus in the program.

@MasterOfBastards whatever man i finished the game on Extreme and got the achievement. btw if anyone who finished this game and didn't get the achievement it's because u didn't go to the hidden route in Episode 1 Chapter 2 it's in the very beggining behind the tree it's like a cave.

@BandIt1861 Its a skin you unlock for having a save file from gears of war. Only on xbox. After you beat the game once, wether solo or multiplayer, you can use your custom characters for the campaign, thats why theres Marcus, and the girl with her ass hangin out in the video.

@BandIt1861 You don't actually need the save. That is just what everyone Believes. You need to beat the Game to unlock Dom and Marcus. You need from different games to unlock Frank West and Wesker.

@FluffyQuack Do you know the difference Between the Cobalt and the Devil Roar Bullets? You can get the Wrath Bullets from the Crane on the Cannon if you put the Cannon in the Home Position. (Starting Position.) The Wrath Bullets Do the work of 2 Cobalts if you shoot it at the Cat-G's Red Spots. The AI never Gave Me the Chance to Fire Devil Roar.(1 Devil Roar is in the are with the coolants and more are at the back of the cannon under the crane.
I reccomend use of the quick return ability.

@Heds123 When you replay the story, you can use custom characters in story missions. That player simply used a female character skin that replaced the original skin.

Looking at your video, you don't mention the armor piercing bullets. Though if you are playing with the AI then you likely will never get a chance to use them. Also, you kind of showed that the charged shot does make a diffrence. Fully Charged (shows gold) cobalt shell on an uncovered weak spot did a ton more damage then a normal shell.
