  • I have the same acoustic :)

  • thumbs up for the dog !

  • Lol, what were you watching? I can see t on your guitar :P

  • what guitar strings did you say you use i didnt hear u properly and my computer is slow

  • thank you, when i get my string i will try this.

im still pisst off how i could break it =(

  • should never take all of the strings of a guitar. Your putting unnecessary stress on the neck and body of your guitar by having it go from, full tension to no tension then back up to full tension.

  • Ha man thanks I'm just a really beginner and I didn't know anything about guitars

  • thanks for the message, glad to help! Please dont forget to check out my website freeandeasyguitar com for lots more lessons, take care

  • LOL! I use water instead of lubricant, both works, but water is just for a shorter time...

  • water will cause your strings to rust

  • Not nylon strings...

  • are your thickest 3 strings covered with metal winding? or are they all 6 completely nylon?

  • u owned me... I see that they are getting brownish around the nut..

  • @LinkBulletBill Isn't water supposed to ruin your guitar?

  • @praneshgr

    Lol! Yes... :x

I learned my lesson this year...

  • thanks for this vid teaching how to put replace the strings... coz i broke my g-string on my guitar

  • thanks for the message, glad to help! Please dont forget to check out my website freeandeasyguitar com for lots more lessons, take care

  • Let's be honest dude, you have a ton of great videos on how to play the guitar......and now a video on how to string it? Kinda like a master mechanic showing newbies how to do an oil change, right? How about a video about how you choose guitar strings (if you haven't done that already)?

  • the video was put up a year ago, and yeah youd be surprised how many guitarists don't know how to change their strings, take care brotha

  • yo the same thing happened to me just now i was tuning it down and then i had a bloody finger lol

  • haha that sucks dude

  • My high E String always broke, I guess its because I always do solo with lots of bending... So I guess its not advisable in an acoustic guitar or I'm not well yet in changing the strings.. What's your opinion on this Aaron?

  • hey buddy, i do a lot of soloing on my acoustic guitar, you just have to be careful you arent bending it more than a step up, any more than that is overdoing it

  • do you snip wire at the end

  • you can if u want to, i do

  • ok thanks .... im changing them for the first time so :) thanks for the help

  • no problem, good luck

  • lol dude i broke my D string tuning down too crap no offense youve taught me alot but this expilination doesnt help me would guitar center help me put my string?

  • yeah they can do it

  • How often should I change my strings?

  • if you play everyday, once every 2 months

  • Ok, I just got my guitar...it's a cutaway, and I kno absolutely nothing. So i was twisting the handle that goes with my D string and it broke. So can you please show me how to put it on?

  • Wow, I should have changed my strings a long tome ago. Thanks.

  • haha

  • Hey Dude

I just broke my 3rd string and my strings are old anyways so Im going to change them all but can you give me the exact name of the stings you like the most so I can try to find them at guitar center.

    Thanks Man

  • yeah check out Daddario phosphur bronze or elixir medium guage

  • Thanks man

    Your awesome

  • no problem bro, let me know what you think once you get them

  • Sure man I will

I wont get them until a week or so because Im ordering them online. Thanks Dude

  • good deal

  • Hey dude I got the strings in today and I put them on. They sound awesome!!

    Thanks So much dude!!

  • great to hear man, glad to help

  • omg i feel so dumb i havent seen this video lol thanks

  • hope it helped

  • hey do you still like your elixir strings better...oh and umm i dont have a tuner built into my alvarez... but i do have one that i use...its made to tune all kinda of instruments..and there is a setting to change the Hurtz (HZ) calibration... its at 441 right now..should i change that at all??

  • mine is at 440 and i think you can change it with a button but im not sure, but now i use elixir and d'addario strings

  • I broke my High E string tuning down as well but im kinda new and i was wondering since im restringing the high E should i do all the strings the guitar is about 7 monthes old and idk if i should or not any help?

  • hey, if i break a string I tend to restring the whole thing. but that is up to you, you want to make sure the strings are about the same age so you dont have some new ones and some older ones

  • oh sorry i cant see what ur doing.....

uhhh how do u take off thw white things..like the things below the string...the white thing...

  • hey, first step is too loosen all the string to a point where you can cut them or sometimes u can get your hand inside the guitar and push those pins out with ur fingers, otherwise they make tools u can get at a guitar store that you can just slide around the pins and pull them up

    aaron

  • hehehehehehehehehe...i just pushed the pins with my vlack thing usin to turn the thingy...i just dont know how to tune it :(

  • oh nvm i got it...YAY!!! i got to change it :D

btw ummm i dont know how to use a tuner i have one but i dont know how...help?!

it says mic or clip....what does clip means?

  • ok just saw that u said how often to change them but let me know what you think about the ringing string :)

  • hey ash, i guess the only thing that could be happening is if you are strumming it louder, but im not sure, if you see any discoloration on your strings you should change them too

    aaron

  • hey how do you know when to change the strings if you dont actually break one? because my high E string seems to be ringing over my other strings during the songs i'm playing and its really annoying. my guitar is in tune but its just that string that is ringing loud...any idea why that is?

    Thanks,

    Ash

  • oy thats odd to break your string tuning down. oh well thanks vid really helped

  • haha yeah it was odd, glad to help, take care

  • hi arron how often should i change my strings keep up the good work fella

  • bout every 2 months

  • hi arron can you tell me how often i should change my strings.Keep up the good work fella

  • bout every 2 months if u play everday

  • ok thanks, that must be why i sound crap!.Found u a few days ago, learnt loads all ready thanks again

  • i just bought some brand new strings for my guitar. haha i wasnt sure what to look for so i just got some acoustic ones. anyways i bought some martin acoustic guitar strings. Phosphor bronze medium. hahaha i had no clue what to look for but the low E string is HUGE. they dont sound right though when i play with a pick, it just sounds horrible. any tips on what to do with tuning? or should i get some new ones. they sound great when i put my capo on it, holy crap its beautiful.

  • well you may just not have tuned them up enough, i would gegt a friend or someone whos experience or the guitar shop and have them take a look at it but look over their shoulder so you can see what they think that way it wont happen again

  • yea, next time ima get smaller strings, you gotta atleast try different things to see what u like. what kinda guitar do u have.

  • alvarez ac 60

  • Hey man I'm haveing string problems. I use Elixers light. And I bought some Last week I put them on, and last night my G string broke. I think somebody said Elixers uselly do that. But it seems like every week my high E or G srting brakes.

  • hey, are they breaking while you are trying to put them on and tune them up or are they breaking like after youve had them on for a couple days?

  • They are breaking after a couple of days.

  • i would say the only way that should be happening is if you are tuning up too high, so like you are tuning too high i believe, what kind of tuner are you using?

  • Im useing my on bored tuner.

  • hmm im not sure what to tell ya, unless you are just tuning too high past the B and high E, i dont know what to tell you other than take it in to a local guitar center and let them make sure nothings wrong with the tuning pegs

  • hey what do you think would be the best strings for a ovation acoustic/electric?

  • thanks for the video, i got some new strings today cause the ones on my guitar were old and rusted and what not, and i didn't know how to change them, and i remembered looking thru your videos and seeing this one, so i changed my first strings today with your help. so thanks man. peace

  • thats awesmoe dude, its nice to be able to change them yourself instead of paying for them or just having to have someone do it

  • yea it is, and its amazing how better a guitar can sound by just changeing the strings

  • haha ohh man isnt that the truth

  • lol it sure is

  • u should make a video on how 2 tune yur guitar with a tuner and without one

  • will do that soon, thanks for the comment

  • I was wondering if you had a certain brand for strings you'd recommend?

  • yessss,i recommend elixir strings, if you are a very beginner then light guage strings, if you have calluses already on your fingertips from playing then get medium gauge strings

  • we have the same guitar strings lol i see the little thing on ur table

jus putting that out there ha

  • haha cool

  • i have a humidified guitar and when i changed my strings they started to rattle i dont know if every guitar is like that so yea..do u think i need to adjust the neck if so how do i do that?

  • hmm i have no idea, i mean my strings rattle too until i tune them up, i would take it to a local guitar store and get their opinion

  • hey-- haha i still havent put my new high E on... my brother is being lazy about it. but now i can give it a shot, so thanks lol.

so how often should i change my strings? do you think i should just put a whole new set on now? how do i tell when they are getting worn out?

  • lexxxxx!! lol hey, umm sometimes if you use certain strings you can actually just look at the strings and see if they look a little discolored or another way is to take your fingernail and rub it under the string and if you pick up a little gunk on your nail its prob time to change, how long has it been since you put new strings on last?

  • well lets see...its been about a month...4 or 5 weeks maybe. ill check em for gunk lol. im sure its time to change them all. im just too lazy. haha

  • you could change them if want to, couldnt hurt
