Basically it says that the Holy Spirit is God, who is also "The Father" and "The Son" but it has never really been clear. The Bible is made from historical writings and documents. It didn't just get written all at once from one author and get titled. It happens that the Bible includes the geneologies of a lot of people, including Jesus, because it's important to Christianity. It's not circular reasoning. In regards to the slavery issue, your concept of slavery is the horrific example of black slavery in the US. That was an horrendous affair that God would most certainly not approve of, which you'd know if you had read more of the scriptures. Yes, God does condone "slavery." However, the slavery enacted by ancient hebrews is not what -we- think of today. It was more akin to "indentured servitude." A temporary contract of service. There was also very strict law governing how you could treat them.

Viruses are often responsible for diseases like leukemia too (a special retrovirus has been shown to cause the disease in those who are genetically susceptible).
God created cholera toxin too. A toxin who's sole purpose is to make people literally have diarrhea until they expunge all fluid in their body and die.
All those children died not from free will, but directly by something god created.

Basically it says that the Holy Spirit is God, who is also "The Father" and "The Son" but it has never really been clear. I think it is an attempt to justify what was rapidly becoming a polytheistic belief system for one that claimed to be monotheistic. (Either that or the 3 parts are just 3 of God's personalities and He's just a wee bit schizophrenic .)

The Bible is made from historical writings and documents. It didn't just get written all at once from one author and get titled. It happens that the Bible includes the geneologies of a lot of people, including Jesus, because it's important to Christianity. It's not circular reasoning. That's begging the question. You have to prove that things were created, first of all, and that it required a deity, specifically yours. You can't just presume "creation" and then attribute it to your god version, and then claim that's all the proof you need.

They take advantage of ignorant folks' superstitious beliefs for monetary gain. In fact, ghosts staying earthbound completely contradicts the metaphysics described in the bible. Religion has tried to link these things, but even any credible parapsychologist knows that there is no direct correlation.

As for the show, I am not associated with the show in any way, I am just a fan posting clips from the show that I find entertaining, and even if I were, this is on public access television, so ratings are not their main concern in making the show.

In regards to the slavery issue, your concept of slavery is the horrific example of black slavery in the US. That was an horrendous affair that God would most certainly not approve of, which you'd know if you had read more of the scriptures. Yes, God does condone "slavery." However, the slavery enacted by ancient hebrews is not what -we- think of today. It was more akin to "indentured servitude." A temporary contract of service. There was also very strict law governing how you could treat them.

We are morally superior to people from 1000 years ago because we know things that those people didn't know. God could have made the human population a bunch of drones, but He gave us free will. it is up to us to decide how we want to live our lives, and if we want to follow Christ. If we do, we will have eternity. If not, then people will spend eternity separate from God, and in hell. It's simple to follow Him, yet many people decide to turn their back on Him.
