if u knew anything u knew that he play a gibson ess-335 as well as les paul custome and the tele!!! all of the recorded stones work was les paul and ess-335 it was not till later when he really started to play with tele!!!!
the guitar he recorded brown sugar with was mick taylors Gibson SG. he never played SGs live but i've read bill wymans rolling stones story and it says, that it was recorded with Mick Taylors SG.
and it does matter what guitars you use. fenders and gibson hollowbodies sounds fantastic but you have to admit, that it is very different.
wow, I have the vox ad50vt - that's almost the same like your 30vt and few days ago I ordered epi casino on ebay, now I'm sure my guitar will have beautiful tone
This is a very good cover, buddy.I think you should have added a bit more distortion,it would be closer to the original...but it remains a great cover...
The Epi's nice, and for all I know the other tutorials are off on sound, but didn't Keith Richards play this on his "Micawber" Telecaster? In which case...
Yeah, Keith Richards uses Micawber when playing Brown Sugar on tour, I read somewhere that he used and SG for a demo in 1969. For the actualy released recording on Sticky Fingers he probably used his Dan Armstrong Pelxiglass he only really started using the Telecaster on the 1972 American Tour and on Exie On Main St
Do they feedback a lot for a hollow body?

well, got to disagree there - the original was recorded on an Ampeg Dan Armstrong Plexiglass anyway - and that's fact.
Sure, the live one's are 'mostly' on telecasters, but even i've got a semi-hollow, and Brown Sugar sounds fantastic on it.
it's all about the amp really, doesnt matter what guitar.
p.s i think this setup sounds brilliant. dont you think?

strange! i could have sworn it was on an Ampeg...
i stand corrected lol
and yeah, guitar fanatics would definitely say guitars sound different. in most cases, i'd agree. i just think the amp makes the biggest difference.
