You didn't need to do these major mods to a stock EVG SX 36v ebike, as you eliminated the stock front 35watt headlight, the rear LED brake/tail light, cruise control & horn. Why?
The upgrade path is first to remove the SLA battery box, wire in a + & - wires off the lower junction, which allows you to still use the SLA battery box as a backup. Buy two Hobbyking 18.5v/8ah lithium poly batteries ($185), wire them in series for 37v (42.5v).
Cont....These batteries increase the speed to 21.5mph & the range to around 15 miles, while retaining the FULL function of the stock items. I've over volted the lithiums to 44v & still everything works great.
You then install a 42t front chaingear, or you can go to a 46t with a little trimming of the side case. Then you replace the rear 28t/14t freewheel with a 30t/11t for increased top end pedaling.
Very simple & your costs are lower than your upgrade.
