This game inspired me to use 'persona' as a name in all the games I've played, at least the ones that require you to input or change the main char. name.
@FarelThirteen Replying a bit late but Persona 2 is, in my opinion, the best RPG I ever played. I don't think the recent ones are bad (well, P4 was kind of bad), but they can't hold a candle to P2. Innocent Sin (there were two games named Persona 2!) was fan translated and I recommend checking it out.
@FarelThirteen so far, I like Innocent Sin (the prequel to Eternal Punishment) the best, out of the whole series.. too bad it never will get an official English release or remake.
You should be working on your AGL over your TEC. Only thing that TEC gives you really over AGL is attack power, but at the cost of speed -- both for dodging and going first -- which is going to be important down the line.
Attack power is almost worthless (you didn't use a single attack this whole fight). Go for the speed. You'll wish you had it when you hit the last boss.
If you really want the attack power, just use a persona to boost your strength and use AGL for all your other stats.
Nope. AFAIK only thing that affects negotiation is the demon personality types (i.e. Smart, Stupid, Grumpy, Happy) and each individuals negotiation tactics.
Phases of the moon also play a small role in how demons react to certain negotiation tactics, and a few personae can randomly talk similar demons out of their spell cards.
You own level also affect negotiations, but I'm not sure if it means P.Level, normal Level, or, less likely, TEC. I've been trying to get Spell Cards with Mark for the longest time, but even with Interest maxed out, I just get "your level's too low". He's Lvl. 26 or so vs. Level 28 or so demons, but my main is level 30, and has no problem.
I don't have a problem with getting cards if I'm of a high enough level and I barely trained my TEC for the longest, so I'm pretty sure it's not TEC just level.
Also, when I say train your AGL, I don't mean that's the only thing you should train. You should DEFINITELY put points into TEC and LUK, just don't waste your time with STR or VIT. I'd say each level put 2 to AGL until you hit max and throw 1 into LUK or TEC, your choice.
Right now, I have a persona that seems to raise AGL significantly... although it's only 26 as compared to the almighty TEC at 79. However, I've noticed that TEC raises DODge as well as attack power and accuracy for both types of physical (Attack/Sword and Gun/Projectile). At this point I don't have anything to lose by training AGL but it's helped a lot with normal enemies to train TEC.
AGL helps Dodge at a faster rate then TEC does (+1 per point attributed). From what I understand, only difference is with TEC you get attack power, and with AGL you get DEF and the right to act before everyone with lower AGL. Attack power is basically worthless, as Hero's guns are waaay better than his swords.
Damn chracter limit: I'm not sure what level you are now, but you have a high TEC that's fine, just keep putting 3 points into AGL from now on. It's really important because once you get to Pandora, you can give the Hero a persona with MagicWall like Succubus (or if you're hardcore SteelWall but you need to be p-level 90 and need to have exactly two monster cards AND an item to create Athena).
I'm gonna have to shell out some cash for this and Persona 2: Eternal Punishment. Already own Persona 3, Atlus is already making Persona 4 for PS3 (this has been confirmed)
I haven't played it yet but it seems like Persona 3 is a lot of fun, the character interactions seem really entertaining in typical Persona flair. I still get laughs over the stuff that the demons in Persona 1 say, despite the inconsistent localisation.
The previous video was much better. Are you doing videos in preparation for P3? I'd love to see the whole game played through again! Beat the game myself, but I wasn't successful in getting each character's strongest Persona. XD
By "previous video", I guess you mean before I tried to adjust for the darkness and edit it out, rather than the Philemon videos?
P3 got me interested in Persona again but I'm more doing them since I don't see anything but the intro on YT and I'm trying to play thru the game as well. Last time I stopped at the 9-level under-shrine dungeon where it's just Mary and the protagonist.
Ahh, I see. Yeah, by previous video, I meant the video with all the pauses. It was much more clearer to watch, and the pauses weren't too long to be much of an annoyance.
Okay, thanks a lot for the feedback. I won't try to compensate for the darkness anymore, then... or do minor edits. The upshot is that I'll be able to upload video sooner after I make them, and directly upload the backlog I had when my internet access was restricted.
Feel free to subscribe if you want automatic notification when I update, should be within a week.

@bajan13k No, but there's a fan translation of it that you can get and burn and play it in English.

Thanks for the advice.
Doesn't TEC also affect negotiation though? I figured it was similar to INT in the SMT main series games.

Oh yeah well the level thing goes without saying, considering the demons just outright tell you about that. :)
What I'm not sure of is whether it checks your aggregate party level vs the monsters level or just the negotiators level vs monster level.

Well, this game could really do with a remake... but it's better than nothing, I guess.

Yeah, but, at one point, Soul Hackers in English on the original PlayStation was also confirmed, so I'll believe it when I see it.

I tell ya Persona 3 really cracked me up, especially the "Operation Babe Hunt" part.
