The guest guitarist is Steve Niles everybody!! Author of the 30 Days of Night graphic novels, and many others. Pretty famous guy in the Comic Industry. I've met him several times. Awesome dude. He was also in the punk band Grey Matter!
I took my girlfriend to this concert, at first she was apprehensive (she listened to crappy pop music) during the concert she just stood there in awe after sh said "That was the most amazing thing I've ever seen, this music I felt with my heart." I said " That's what Tool does to you" LONG LIVE TOOL!
@sachin342 thats amazing man, My (ex) gf fainted on the floor when we were there. She had no idea what she was getting into ;) she said she saw Maynard talking to her, and a smiley face, some trippy ass shit id say!
I tried to get tickets to this show and I called the day after they went on sale. When I called they told me that the tickets sold out within 5 minutes of going on sale! I gotta be on the ball next time Tool comes to Toronto so I can get tickets because I've never seen them live before.
you gotta pay bigger bucks, and time it right. I timed it wrong, paid $175 for floor tickets, (but i would have sold my first born to see tool so really price wasnt the issue)
Look at large ticket holders like stub hub, they will buy the tickets, inflate them, then sell. but when its tool playing, your shouldnt be worrying about price at the moment
I was at the show, and I was very close to the stage. The "guest guitarist" was maynard's son. I'd bet everything I own on it. He was all over the stage all night, looked to be the right age and looks like maynard. Then you add in the fake name maynard called him, it makes sence to me.
You know, as awesome as last night was, their best concert I've been to was in 06 at molson. Much better than this one in my opinion. and they played a year later at copps coliseum which sucked, cus they are so not a stadium kind of band, you need to be outdoors for Tool. I'm so sad it's over, I could watch them forever and never get sick of it.
Oh, yes...06 was a sweet year...I still cannot fucking believe it rained when he called for it. LMFAO @ us both holding our hands out at the sky...shoulda worked on our raindances! xD
I definetely agree...Tool should always play outside!! It just adds so much to the overall experience. This was an awesome show...was sad when it was over. I agree though...I could go see them everyday and I would feel the same everytime. New album soon!!! :):):)
@anisalti small venue no more than 1000 people....thats the real tool experience. this shit blows...for tool. if ya wanna know if your at a good tool concert, maynard is up front and centre. not hiding by the drummer. as soon as he started that, in 2000 something, the shows suck compared to earlier ones. I've saw them 10 times, won't go again since he started that.
Don't worry they didn't fake anything out I was as close as you could get right up agains't the front blockers in the pit 2 feet from the stage, Adam was in the background playing his other silverburst over this guy, Maynard just made him do it to embarass him.
I was 10 feet in front of Adam on the floor. That guy playing guitar wasnt playing shit. I am a guitarist for a tool tribute band, and I can tell you he was faking. Im pretty sure it was a pre-recorded guitar track. He didnt touch any pedal, and did not face the crowd once. I think adam may have been sick or someting, he looked like he was half dead
I was as close as you could get to the stage, you could see Adam in the background playing his other silverburst. Maynard simply made their guitar tech come on to embarass him.
We were in Lawns. Molson always has the best sound out of all the other venues I've been to. I've seen Tool a few times and Molson has been the best for them. god i love them!
no shit eh? just thought this looked a little close to be from the lawn. I was in 201, pretty much right infront of that pole holding up the shelter.... what a fuckin show..... MMMMMMM french fries, haha.
The capacity for the amphitheater is 16 thousand Ppl it was an amazing show.

Maynard is such a talented vocalist. When he sings live he rarely misses a note.

his name is Steve Niles, he's a writer, he's one of adams friends.
