I really love this Mix, it´s so fresh, great balance, simple beats with great Vocals... i just wonder why it seems to Cut (suddenly stop at the end), like there´s at least one minute missing..
@Arnie9mm just use Video2mp3 add-on in FireFox. To poster, one of the best mixes i've ever heard. To me best hip hop song ever is this man parrish. Damn Boogie down Bronx.
@ayazkhana man fuck everybody. this is the jam both of them. im from h town texas where noone likes anything but dj screw and Ghetto Murda Rap and i do to but this is music on a different level. both songs jam and i wasnt even looking for this i just found it and im glad i did. dont let anyone say this is shit man. i just wish i cudda been around to be a b boy or to say i remember this but im from a different generation and still think this is the bomb man. do your thang.
@jermson Thanks for the comments,Jermson...in this day and age of commercial hip hop and rap...its good that us old skool b-boys try and do keep it real and interesting and creative.
this remix is the BOMB!!!! I'm an old skool raver, promoter for 15 years, old skool hip-hopper and graf writer and househead, and I would FAINT WITH JOY if this song were played at a party tomorrow! Thank you for blessing us with this lovely piece of music
Now this shit is the snizzle. Mix A1, Video A1. Perfect. I Mixed these two songs together back in the day already on vinal, accapellas are cool. But to add this video to the mix just kicks it off MINT.
As for her singing being off. Shannon never sung it right in the first place which is why Jimi Tunell sings the main chorus...A trick that many Freestyle Records do...she can't sing? Get Jimi Tunell in....LOL...The problem with this mix is the heavy compression clipping & limiting in the middle of the track...you should do an HQ version.
mad foot work on that subway sequence... true b-boy ingredients. i mean, my manz went absolutely nutz @ 00:16 ;o)
also, the mix is perfect... those tracks go together well. matter of fact, this mix has been done before... i mean, i've heard it before. so it works and is already proven.
finally checked him out... and i guess that's why i noticed him in this vid. he's famous for his outstanding footwork in the new-age b-boy scene. thanks mate ;o)
HAHA... a battle of what sounds good to some and not to others...
To me... I like this mix... Simple yet complex in its own right...
As many have stated before, if this was out years ago it would been Ill (love capitol i's)... unfortunately, people today need everything to sound either PERFECT or just shy of perfection to be acceptable... it's a sad time we live in...
Interesting idea .. Although he voice is offkey slightly ... should have used a touch of re-pitching (but keeping the speed) to match her voice. would have been awesome instead of just good.
ayazkhanam, that mix just killed me off. why didn't you re-pitch either one of the tracks to avoid the disharmonious clash ....the mix is a great idea though
2 songs - each played in different scale, therefor, you got only a disharmonic loop of man parrish with Shannon acapella, which can be easily found on the net as an MP3.
Sorry mate, but it simply doesn't work - try again!!
Sorry to disapoint you, but I've done my time on the MKII and still use 'em. What you hear is a poor mash up - I don't care if it was done 'live' on decks or on Pro-Tools/Cubase - the result is very poor: just a basic disharmonic loop, mixed with the acapella, which can be easyly found on any peer 2 peer software, or on a 12" of new remixes from 2004 (or was it 2001?)
My message is - USE YOUR IMAGINATION and stop trashing classics!
My B-boys friends have listened to this and im an old b-boy myself and know that if this was played in my days,it would have been BIG.When i do a remix im always thinking what would the old skool think, forget the peer to peer jargon.its about how we use to listen and dance to music..this ain't for modern day sensitive ears..its rough and thats it at its best...a few mistakes here and there,so what...this is how its done at its best.
@rtmnmk haha..y u trashing this mix..not to take anything away from guy who made this mix but he aint the first..heard parrish w/ shanon many times mixed in clubs in nyc in 80`s..also mixed w/ set it off instrumental w/ shanon..he aint trashing noone..a classic is a classic..but a mix is a mix..and this mix is a classic..b4 this upload..

All TRUE Dj's, B-Boy and B-Girls can appreciate this mix. There's a lot of garbage up here.
But, I have to say, Ayazkhana, you went in on this one.
Staying true to the Culture, is something I haven't seen or heard in a minute.

Brother (Yes, I am a Muslim), the mix is great Add a few more effects (sound wise) during the hook. Just to spice it up a little. Great mix also.
As for them messing with you. Leave it in the Hands of Allah. He's ALWAYS makes a WAY.
