I know there's a federal model 2001-AC in pineville on hwy 51 off I-485, near the Bi-lo, they test it regularly, on wednesdays i think. There's also a siren on Harris Blvd off I-77 near northlake mall, which in an ASC, i think
Is that Coca-Cola advertising I see?...on a fire department sign?? Always thought those were only seen on cafes, diners, rural "mom n' pop"-type convenience stores and the like. Guess it's really true what they say: Coke IS everywhere. xD
@123Twisterman This siren was installed on another fire station for many years before that station went out of buisness. Then the siren was baught and was put up a few years later when the model 2 that this staion had went bad and has now been running at that station for a long time. Federal made the model 2 single tone and the dual tone model during the 60/70's, there was many systems going in and many applications that dual tone was not used for.
Is this running on a PGA timer? Sounds like the timing's a little different from a standard attack cycle on an AR, which is leading me to believe it's either a PGA or some other timer.
Ah ok, sweet! That's what the county departments' Model 2s cycle on too, some with an external pushbutton next to the office door covered by one of those "in-use" switch/plug covers, which activates the "ALARM" circuit on the PGA.
It's running off of two legs of the 208V three phase. This is how a lot of houses get power as well, off of two of the legs of the three phase service, and you pull a neutral in place of one of the legs for half the voltage (240V from 480V service, or 115V from 230V service).
Yeah LOL it took me a minute to realize wtf was on it, then I figured it out. It's fitting, since the tower it's on is pretty much shaped like one anyway lol

Shit, I knew something didn't sound right! Yeah you're right, you get 277 from 480, and about 256 from 460 (what we have here).
