  • Excellent version! And Greg's incredible voice...

  • I am confused. Robert Fripp was playing guitar during the first bridge. In the studio recording, it sounded like a clavinet. Which instrument was that in the studio recording?

  • Bill became the percussionist for K.C. after Yes(not just a short period either) and it looks as though he became the long sitting percussionist by virtue of the number of albums he shows up on with Mr. Fripp and company.

  • KILLER version!

  • fascinating to hear a different arrangement after 40 years of listening to the first one. What is the source for this recording?

  • The lyrics are different for this recording. Can anyone tell me what album this is FROM? I prefer this arrangement. It's awesome.

  • @2livelovelaughalot FOR ALL...

    ITS FROM-KING CRIMSON.EPITAPH(1997)

...just search in google and you find it

  • The mellotron, called the "black bitch" was later sold to Genesis

  • You do realize that Greg played bass and Fripp was the guitarist EXTRAORDINAIRE , not to go unnoticed were Mike Giles( listen to the percussions man!) Pete Sinfield, and McDonald, i was working on Blackbird

when I first heard this album, changed my life and the music I learned ever after.

  • @porksnipper ... after a brief stint with Yes, Bill Bruford was on drums for awhile too.

  • what a great clear alive recording! compliments to the chef!!

  • Greg lake HAD one of the best voices......NOT ANYMORE!

  • @MrTheHydea My thoughts entirely. It was a hard album to follow anyway being so very good, 12cSkitz is fresh and relevant right now.

  • ..and to oversee The Humanity!...DRIVER!

  • what year was this made?

    does anybody know?

  • @spikelover319131 1969 i believe

  • I've liked the band's music very much since I first heard it in 1970. Court of the Crimson King is my fav. However, I read Wikipedia account of the band. Makes you wonder how they stayed together long enough to finish the song. Imploding is good! Happens an awful lot with large egos.

  • Greg Lake went on to form Emerson, Lake and Palmer. Also very progressive.

  • There was always Ethal!

  • 1 person is in the court of the Crimson Chin.

  • how come I can't Download it anywhere!

  • I can't listen to this self aggrandizing whining chorus without thinking of Spinal Tap.

  • One of my all time fave songs....

  • Crimson is the best!!!

  • GREG......his voice....LISTEN TO ...please

  • Boom...great copy/////

  • justin bieber , had to come and give his negative vote.

  • Wow. A melody. A novelty in these gangsta idol times.

  • It was Blue Cheer and Orange Sunshine and Green Monster in Europe...Germany in my case. 1969 and on and on.

    Back I am.

  • Lucifer can show you the path to freedom and knowledge. His way will liberate you from the Tyrant and his Christ.

  • @Zontertes You've bought into a lie... "Satan comes not but to kill, steal, and destroy" that means he wants to claim anyone foolish enough to believe him. he's the cause of all the greed, corruption, and human suffering in the world, while promissing people pleasure, while knowing they will die never knowing love.

  • @stratphil haha, truth is I'm an atheist and don't believe in anything spiritual.

  • @Zontertes there's an expression which says "if you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything" I'm glad I asked the Lord 23 years ago to show me if He was real, and I get more evidence as the years go by...

    God Bless

  • @stratphil people only stand for religion because they fell for it. evolution is true, the big bang is true, therefore christianity is false; along with all other religions.

  • @Zontertes lol, how can you say evolution and the big bang are true? (im not christian) but where would the big bang have come from? dont understand your arugment

  • @quickyway1 first of all, evolution IS TRUE!. it's universally excepted as FACT, no longer theory, by the REAL scientific community. If you are a doubter, then read Jerry Coyne's book "Why Evolution is True". The big bang is the most mathematically sound explanation for the cosmos. This January, you'll be able to read all about it in Lawrence Krauss's book "A Universe from Nothing", where he spells out in plain english why the universe indeed came from NOTHING! there is no heaven, get over it.

  • @Zontertes i honestly dont care if there is no heaven, but i think there is some kind of afterlife, i mean, with people having deja vu, the dali llama being able to predict the moment he dies and where he is reborn, crop circles, there are many clues on earth that form a part of a greater picture ( a lot of people ignore them), there is a point to life

  • great song.

  • Out of sight

  • then sitting cross legged on the floor wondering if we should Do Some More

  • i thought id never come down off that ceiling, from Owsleys magic seed

  • The vocals sound awesome on this version

  • BBC session ver.

    very, very,

    Xcellent!!!!

  • Sex to my ears!!!!

  • I can tell you something that we can all agree on... 60's, 70's, 80's, and 90's had better music than the garbage that's out now.

  • @blackandblue85 Tool?

  • @scorpion779946 Box???

  • @blackandblue85 HUH? No, the band tool. They sure aren't garbage.

  • @blackandblue85 I absolutely concur. It would be easy to blame it on the corporatization of the music industry but I don't even find bands of the caliber of those four decades in the Indy market. Perhaps it was a golden age of rock music or despite my constant search to uncover these great Indy bands I am not finding them.

  • @blackandblue85

NO, that's obviously your own fail, to turn on the radio these days. You've to look beyond this shitty music-surface ! To discover that stuff that i mean...look after " Tool - The Patient "

  • @themonth How would I know??? Now leave me alone so I can listen to this epic song!!!!

  • This version is really cool

  • Damn this is far better than the studio ver.

  • Never Imagine The Voice of..Someone Someone Loves?...aka A Greatest Moment On Planet Earth Many Wouldl Argue!....Terrorists no doubt...The CAPTURE of Humanity?.say me? The CAPTURE of The HUMANITY!..stand down. you're dismissed!

  • @flickomer now we have one .-.

  • progressive rock!

  • Late 70s I spent weekends in my college dorm room listening to this, whilst partaking in some of the finest lebonese blond you've ever tasted. Incredible memories.

  • Whoa who are these guys? I have always loved progressive, psychedelic rock like Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, and Rush, and this band seems to be right up my alley!

  • Man! wtf? you like that bands and never heard of KC? i envy you, because you can now discover their discography.

  • @MrTheHydea This, my friend, is the basis of it all, i personally recommend to you, 21st century schizoid man.

  • @MrTheHydea

    They are awesome. Enjoy them...

  • @MrTheHydea Here's what I know. Greg Lake formed the band in 1969, their first album "in the court of the crimson king" was a smash hit. Greg Lake plays guitar and of course provides the beautiful vocals. After one album Greg Lake left the band to form the super group Emerson, Lake and Palmer. Maybe King Crimson had some good music after that but without Lake there's no way it could be the same. I'm a huge RUSH, Pink Floyd, Genesis fan. Greg Lake has one of the most incredible voices in history.

  • @U2RUSHFAN

thank you so moch 4 your word's about the band

  • @U2RUSHFAN your stupid Robert Fripp plays guitar!

Lake plays bass and sings idiot

  • @U2RUSHFAN - 'Greg Lake plays guitar and of course provides the beautiful vocals'

Greg was the bass player for KC, however, he is seen playing his acoustic on a piece or two. Greg also contributed to their second album before leaving for ELP. Actually Greg did not form KC. Fripp asked Greg to join to be their bass player.

Now for my opinion. Not only was ITCOTKC a "smash hit", it is the most influential album in rock history. (-:

  • @48Sage - EDIT: Lake was already with ELP when he helped with the recording of In The Wake Of Poseidon.

  • @U2RUSHFAN

If you do some research I think you will find that Greg Lake also handled the vocals on their second album "In the Wake of Poseidon". One thing is clear to me, I wholeheartedly agree with Loobs666 the sound made by the Mellotron is fucking awesome! It gives the music this dreamy background. I can't find the words to describe it.

  • @U2RUSHFAN the band was formed by Robert Fripp

  • @MrTheHydea a band named King Crimson, it actually was one of the most important pioneers of Prog Rock

  • @MrTheHydea You have never heard of King Crimson before? They are like an influence to almost every rock musician after they formed.

  • @MrTheHydea this guys have like 40 years and this song's album it's from 1969

  • i'm liking the alternative lyrics here. thanks for sharing

  • THANK YOU JESUS. AMEN

  • Thank You!

  • Michael Giles: most underrated drummer ever, period.

  • BBC live recording.

  • who is this dude named Robert Fripp?

    signed: John Petrucci :)

  • Yes, Greg Lake.

And Progressive Rock is squeezed out of the womb of Robert Fripp.
