@iseeallforme its not just the west that hates islam, its the entire world, millions of muslims are leaving islam every year and it has only suvived as long as it did because it was forced with violence and saudi owns the oil to afford the temples they build. But then Islam and Christianity were in good terms until GREED kicked in which was the main source of the Crusades, which would sour the relationship between Christians and Muslims forever. The little patience that Muslims got for foreigners dissipated when the West imposed ISRAEL upon them, breaking the promise of Palestine. Islam indeed spread largely by conquest in the Middle East, although Islam did not require conversions of Christians and Jews.

@iseeallforme Your forgetting there were two crusades, muslims invaded first. yes both times were due to greed and power. BUT your missing the point. Whether your method of freedom seems logical or not, look at western society up against any other. There is a flag up on the moon, nearly all life changing inventions were christian, even since ancient greece (example of the freedom of democracy) had free thinking philosiphers, they even built a 4-bit computer! basically change isnt needed anymore.

@animalnt Change isn't needed anymore? And I assume the first crusade was the one against the Byzantines and the Jews. West did provide plenty of material benefits, but what about the social aspects? West is largely known for its moral decay, signified largely by usage of drugs (which Islam forbids, and the Taliban actually violating that principle) and of course, Playboy. Speaking of Ancient Greece, big fan right here. West needs to look on its material supremacy and gain tolerance and charity.

@animalnt Oh, and also, West was also known for its brutal occupation and colony claiming: Belgian Congo, anyone? Change was, is, and probably will be necessary for quite a bit of time: Before the crusades, West has been a backwater region: what happened? It wasn't so much a religious thing as it was the trend in history: the powerful becoming arrogant and decadent, allowing for a new power to take over.

You cant just be one sided when talking about these things, like how the islamic prophet muhammed was a murdering pedophile but muslims make him out to be the best thing since sliced bread. So the west has been more pro-active than the middle-east? Read the quran before you defend it. As much wrong as the west has done in order to gain control, its all been changed, its moved on. But the quran is still medieval with its stoning to death etc.

@animalnt But the video is one-sided, not me! The argument is that it is double standards to hate Islam for the deeds done in its name while not doing that for any other thing (whether it be the West, eugenics, genetics, evolution, any other religion, etc).

@iseeallforme Well if you compare Islam with any other religion, there are major differences. Islam tells its people they are above christians and jews, hence the christian churches in the middle-east being burnt down along with the people inside it.

@animalnt Historically speaking, that shift in attitude largely occurred after the Crusades, and even more after Israel. Initially Muslims did not require forced conversion of Jews and Christians, calling them "the people of the book."

@animalnt I think the better answer is the Cold War mentality. Due to the largely bipolar world order, one with capitalist imperialist "christian" West, and the godless communist east, the Muslim adoption of the view like the tho poles have caused such atrocities. The animus and the can-do attitude can be attributed partly to the Iranian revolution involving the overthrow of autocratic pro-west monarch for a leader of their choice (although they didn't prosper).

Khaled Shiekh Mohammed stated (according to the Substitute for the Testimony of KSM) that his attack on the Twin Tower was caused not so much due to radical ideologies as it was American support of Israel. Muslims that believe that the West is a threat to the Muslim society isn't entirely incorrect: the West attacked Iran for no good reason, imposed corrupt crap on several Muslim countries and denied them democracy!

If westerners were to do such things, it would be for money,power and overall greed. The attacks brought on by muslims today are in the name of allah. But atleast muslims arent taking the blame right? Sure you have two ends of the story, there is a time and a place for these attacks, and it should remain in the warzone.

My point is that history has created a motivation for Muslim attacks, and by ridding a potential motivation, stop Muslim attacks as they had their civilized sides after all.

@animalnt Yeah, Islam ain't perfect, but one of the reason that I sympathize with Islam is that Islam serves as an bulwark against moral decay of soulless consumerism (such as sexual morality). However, I think that happened to be Islam's flaw as well, as Islam became the antithesis to the Western ideals. Indeed, I agree with your modernization ideas, but I don't agree with several other aspects. Islam was once ahead of the West: it might do so once again!

@iseeallforme il semi agree with you on that, islam was good for its time, and that was only a few hundred years. From there on they fell behind. Most of muslims theory come from the greeks. And i hear alot of "greeks took this from muslims". Even in muslims quran is a greek theology of where sperm comes from in a man. We arent talking about the people, we are talking about the ideology. Because the quran was "from allah", their ways will never change, as thats changing the words of allah
