my friend has this phone. it had about 2/3 battery and i played a game on it for an hour or so and it got low battery. so i dont think the battery life is so great

i love the moment and im goin to get it soon but the thing thats making me think not to get it is cause someone said it lasted 4 to 5 hrs and someone else said his lasted for a day but once u fully charge it and 100% i heard it drops to 80% in like 2min then 70% then it stays like that for a while like a day or so. im use to phones that have a good battery life like 3 days or 2 days not 1 day or 5 hrs so i hope this is useful to some ppl asking about the battery life.

Dude, the Hero and the Cliq are both "with Google" devices, too, so how are they "more customizable" than the Moment if the Google interface isn't great at customizing. Duh.

And Cliq (and Backflip) is a joke with their Motoblur crap, anyway. This is the only phone that combines Android and a full keyboard -- the only all-touchscreen phone that has an onscreen keyboard worth a crap is the iPhone -- without the Motoblur crap or the retardedly cheap look of the Droid.

this phone is nice.. i like the fact that it has a really nice display screen and a qwerty keyboard.. but what made me get the hero was the user interface and it was way nicer.. i guess you have to lose something to gain something.. i wish this phone had a different user interface i would have got this instead in a heart beat.. but as soon as sprint releases the 2.1 update this will be a much better cell phone..

they havent made the firmware for 2.0 yet but it is more than capable to handle the upgrade once they release it sometimes in the first half or quarter of this year, it has one of the strongest processors of all the androids

i own the phone and just has the firmware updated, before that the battery was still pretty good if you set it properly i.e. turn off GPS if you dont need it, but the indicator if you didnt update the firmware was malfunctioning. I found if the first week you just drain the battery as much as possible it extended the life of the battery and i think getting a full day use is more than possible

I just ordered them both from Sprint. $249 for the TP2 and $75 for the Moment. I'm a little bummed that Sprint only discounts the TP2 down to 249 w new service while Tmobile sells it for $99 with new service. But Sprint family plan w data/messaging is $60 cheaper than what the equal amount of service from Tmobile would have charged $129 compared to $200 after you add on the same stuff w T-Mob. So I figure to make the extra 149 up with cheaper rates from Sprint. both phones look good!

I ordered it on Amazon with Sprint service. its the same as applying direct on the Sprint site, but the phones just cost less than on the carrier site. Amazon just forwards the credit app to Sprint and processes the app to send the phones. basically unless Sprint tells them you dont qualify the order goes through just like any other. Sprints site charges $350 and $180 for the same phones. Amazon is $249 and $79. again, not sure why they can sell the TMOB TP2 for $99 but its still a deal.

None of these videos really show half of what is so great about this phone. This is the best way to see all it can do:

Find the page for the Samsung Moment

At the bottom click the "Guides and Tutorials" tab

Click the "User's Guide"

It's the entire users manual that will open as a PDF. This shows you features and how to use them better than these phone blog videos. They all seem to review the same basic crap. No one shows anything different.

This phone looks amazing. I'm going to be getting mine in about a month.

One problem, everyone shows how texting works using the QWERTY keyboard.... it's pretty self explanatory. What someone NEEDS to show is all the other options. Using the on-screen keyboard while the phone is in portrait mode. Can you only use a cramped virtual QWERTY? Or is there a virtual numeric keypad with T9? That would be much easier since you can't feel for the keys and don't always want to text with two hands.

Since there is a keyboard already, it won't let you use the virtual keyboard in landscape mode. I will be getting mine in five days. Tested it out in the Sprint store and it has been torture waiting for it to arrive in the mail....

I knew that. I'm not talking about the phone being in landscape mode at all. It's just that almost every video I've seen people demonstrate how everything works they immediately flip it to landscape and pull out the keyboard every time they input text. It's a keyboard. It's pretty self-explanatory. I want to see all the different methods for inputting text (mainly in portrait).

I downloaded a PDF of the manual and that's the only reason I know about the other input methods. Which includes T9.

The ways I know of to input text are the following:

-Virtual keyboard in portrait mode

-The real slide-out keyboard

And that's it, besides the T-9 you have downloaded.

I'm talking about while the phone is in portrait mode. You have a virtual Qwerty (which I think is terrible in portrait because it's so cramped). Then there is ABC mode which has T9.

What I was getting at was I have not seen a review actually showing these other input methods including numbers and symbols.

Some phones (like the HTC Hero) have even more input methods that these review videos don't show.

I think it would be helpful to show all methods of entering text. Some people are picky.

Yes it does. You also have the ability to chose how it behaves. You can choose to have the screen orientation adjust automatically when you turn the phone sideways or only when your slide the keyboard out.
