RIP, he was my track coach at Hueneme High School and now I go to UCLA so I'm going to dedicate my last year of running track here to him.

I'm deeply sadden and shocked of the news. I had the "honor" of training with Dave in Santa Barbara 81-84, as a decathlete. He was always filled with encouragement and laughter. I had not seen Dave in over 25 years, but those memories of training "have" and "will" last a lifetime...my thought's and prayer go out to the family
