Kosmic Janis...you are a party pooper. Janis is not a historical relic to be kept in a museum. How we keep her music alive in live venues...is to emulate her. If we were to do " our own versions" of Janis, it wouldn't be Janis.
A Janis tribute would not be a tribute without the feathers. Jen is right. Janis would LOVE people emulating her!! Besides that, Jen Porter rocks and audiences LOVE her doing Janis!! :)

I think when big stars like Melissa Etheridge or Pink sing Janis songs their way it's because they are already stars and can do so. I'm sorry that you feel that way. I think Janis would've LOVED it if she'd been able to see people emulating the behaviors for which she's known.
This particular tribute show is done on her birthday, January 19th, and includes multiple divas dressed, acting, and CELEBRATING who she was.
Finally, the crowd obviously LOVES this show EVERY YEAR, so I imagine it will continue despite your negativity.
