Skynyrd was a pretty good back in the day when Ronnie Van Zant was singing.Lately my girl from the UK got me listening to cold play,oasis,and a few more Brit bands.She wants to turn me into a true Brit.Yehhhhh!!!I love the stones though.NO my man i never heard of Oscar Peterson.Right now as far as blues goes i'm into Wison Pickett and George Benson right now.Damm man!I'm pretty laid back myself,but i fell in love with london when i came last december except that it rained every frigging day.

I'm a guitar picker and just think that Jerry Reed is probably the best picker ever to play guitar, so I get pretty wound up when people diss him out of hand, ya' know!! Especially over vids like this when he's not even playing....but after studying his stuff for years, you realise what a monster guitar talent the guy was, but anyways, my bad for getting so OTT!! Like I said...its cool.

@sammys70 Yeah,man Croydon is a nice part of England, I'm from the North of England. I always liked what I like, never followed trends and I got into Jerry through Country guitar, i.e., Chet Atkins, Merle Travis, Doc Watson, Albert Lee, etc.....and in turn I got into all those guys through Blues (my first and last musical love!!) - I've played in Blues Bands in the North for many years!! Atlanta eh? Home of The Black Crowes...I've seen them twice!! And Jerry Reed was a Georgia man too!!

@simojames Cool!I love the Black Crowes dude.Remedy is a bad ass song.Do you like the Allman Brothers Band?They're quite old now,but still legends here in Georgia.Man i tried playing guitar years ago,but i suck quite a bit and never could get it.I do play a Tenor Sax.My first love has always been R & B jazz,and rock.Damm man i hope i can come back to the UK next year.I miss my friend so much,and London is so cool.

@sammys70 Hey, yeah I love the Allman Bros. especially with Duane, and Lynyrd Skynrd are one of my all time faves too (more the earlier stuff though with Steve Gaines and Van Zandt etc...), I love all that Southern Stuff right upto Dimebag and Pantera!! Its a while since I was in London, its a bit hectic for me, I'm (usually - ignoring my first posts....Doh!!...haha!!) pretty too much laid back for the big smoke!! Re : Jazz, I'm going through a huge Oscar Peterson phase...heard of him??

Yes Jerry Reed passed away about a yr ago, I think he will always be remembered as SNOWMAN from Smokey and the Bandit
