when I was 5 years old I remember my bro playing this game... even If I wasn't playing I felt a conection to Cloud. misunderstood, kind of heart, fighting for the weakest, giving his all for his friends, that sense of responsibility he carries. that feeling of not giving a shit for yourself but your all for that which you love (niblehiem, AERIS, his shortlived friendship with Sephiroth). I remember going to detention tons o times for protecting my friends and never regreting the pain nor trouble
Hahaha....and I remember when THE GAME CAVE used to have this song as their hold music when you'd be waiting on the phone to be transferred to a representative. Ah the 90s.....
Starting from 1:18-1:1:52, I feel something strange. Neither good nor bad. But something pure and real. It is unexplainable. Like my childhood. A faint memory that I can recollect here there but nevertheless precious.
Ahh..memories. I remember this first playing in the flashback in Kalm..and I was like "Wow..This is deep..!" One of the best stories and best themes in gaming.
Oh my god i cant stand this anymore! This man Nobuo is a genius in every sence of the word when it comes to his craft. He perfectly captures the soul, atmosphere and mood of every scene he makes music for and that is truly a feat destined to replicated by noone im sure.
Just this song makes me think back to how the party discovered the newly rebuilt Nibelheim while Cloud could vividly recall the scorched down town and the desolation and sadness he felt seeing it. I hear it all, what a great man
Listening to this song... I start thinking about this great game and I realize, despite my initial feelings towards a remake... I don't want one anymore. Don't fix something that isn't broken.
The graphics left a lot to be desired. They were small and lacked detail. The PS1 could pump out much better graphics (see FF8). Let's face it folks, most of you who were blown away by this game because this was probably the first FF you were exposed to due to the mainstream success of FF7 and the PS1
@jazzman7889 This was my favorite song on the entire soundtrack, without a doubt. And I totally agree with that you wrote---- overall, the game's soundtrack was not that great, ESPECIALLY when compared to the masterful soundtrack of Final Fantasy VI, but it did have a few standout tracks.
And Sephiroth was a bad villain. I mean sure he was cool, but he never actually did anything bad. I half expected him to turn good before it was all over (see ff iv) or if you want to see a good example of a villain, check out Kefka in FF6.
This is hands down my favorite track on this game. However, the game sucked. The plot and characters were boring. I totally saw the death of Aeris coming (that plotline was recycled from Phantasy Star). The translation was horrible. I mean did Tifa and cloud get together at the end? I couldn't tell since the translation was so bad.
A whole lot of people say they want a remake...i say theres no need.Whos with me? btw i love this game as much as anybody its simply the greatest game ever made. FF7 fans unite!
Wishing that we all could live in a world like how Strife and the gang lived, So compelling but yet everything could be controlled at the tip of there hands.. This music is very deep, Matter of fact all of the music that carried in this terrific game helps me go to sleep at night. If there is any ff7 lovers out there fill free to hit me up on here. I love this game and the memories that brought with this game, Any good memories feel free to share. Best music ever made and hell even the best game!
Why do people hate the xylophone part of this song? That's my favorite part and everyone who does an Orchestral remaster, replaces it with a piano, taking out some of the feeling of the song.
WARNING!!!!: Be cautious while pressing the play button. Please be warned and prepared for a rush of nostalgia to overtake you and for fond memories to come rushing back.
Me and this song go back quite a while. Lots of bitter memories n stuff. Teen years are hard. But so simple by comparison to the future - during the time, you hate it, but when I listen to this, I wanna go back.
@pineapplepeanuts you're not alone with that. This track has a history for me, too; for me this music gave me a bittersweet comfort in my lonlier years. I guess it reflected where I was in my head really well so I had perspective
Anyone else think the recent disaster in Japan make this game even more poignant? I can't help but think of Gongaga whenever I read or watch anything about the Fukushima Nuclear Plant. So depressing. Fuck nuclear power. Seriously.
why does this always remind me of the church.. then aerith.. and then get me all misty eyed.. specially around 1:20... it gives me the image of this girl devastated inside.. but smiling to keep everybody around her smiling...
I have been a fan of FF7 for a very long time... It was my very first RPG game. I get so nostalgic. Just imagine that this song is playing EXACTLY the same way as the first time you heard it.
@silversky2000 Thank you, i wrote this thinking about how deep is this game Final Fantasy 7, the history, the caracters, the conversations....everything was so well worked!
dude MGS & FFVII r both classic playstation milestones, and u will get ALOT of views from their music. do it, u wont regret it. trust me. i am a die hard fan myself, and id also like to request that u put the Ending Theme up first?

The true and original in which was the very first rpg I've played when it first came out.
I recall my borther helping me out a lot for being so nervous.
But the more I played the lives of these addicitive characters and the music within the persona of it the more I was trully thrilled!
Awesome game my top favorite and never forget the fan fics and drawings I made!
