@mattwood22 Male lions usually don't participate in the hunt, but when the pride goes after large prey like buffalo the males usually participate in those hunts because to take down a large animal like that you need a lot of lions and power.

No. The film doesn't show how the lions got the buffalo, but I can assure you, Lions are notorious (as well as other predators) of attacking the hamstrings, thus making their prey susceptable to attack.

No, the lion would not even started the hunt on a buffalo when he was alone. Secondly, a full grown buffalo is an enormous animal, so much heavier then a single lion. And yes, Lions can be killed by buffalos but not often. Furthermore; maybe you can't really fight back anymore when 3 adolescent male lions are hanging on your back.

this must have been alone buffalo. Buffalos have their strength in a herd but sometimes a dominating male buffalo will kick the rivals out of the herd. Lions take opportunity to attack the helpless lone buffalo
