Michael Moriarty, Sam Waterston, and Jerry Orbach were all nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. (Michael, 4 Sam 3, Jerry 1, how only once amazes me) and none of them ever won, which suprises me. The series was nominated for writing a couple times and lost, and directing 3 or 4 times and lost. although it did win best drama series in '97 which is good.
