The tragedy that these shootings have in common is that all of the victims were stripped of their ability to defend themselves against the murdrer. If you truly believe that a new law will help, then why didn't the "weapon free zone" sign on all schools stop the shooters in their tracks? A murdrer is there to kill someone. Adding new laws only restricts those that are NOT murdrers.

Many people don't realize this but guns were not always banned from schools. Many schools had gun clubs and ranges in the basement and guess what? There were no rampage shootings because schools were not considered to be an easy place to kill lots of people by the psychopaths. If someone snaps and wants to kill as many as possible they are going to go where nobody else has a gun. Seriously, is that a hard concept to grasp?

Ever wonder why these horrible incidents happen in "GUN FREE ZONES"? Maby because these people know that they will go and commit these acts unchallenged. Some colleges in the US allow their students and faculty to carry concealed handguns. Why hasent there been any horrible accidents at those schools? Blame the gun and you will never stop killing, find out what got these people to the point of killing and you will save lives.

I think I understand WHY they feel like they do. They believe if no one had guns the world would have less violence. They think the overall level of killing would be less. Less guns = Less killing = better world = why not make a positive change? The thing we need to realize is that by making guns illegal, we wont stop or deter the criminals from carrying guns or committing crimes. You guys remember the omaha mall shooting? That mall had no gun signs posted. There was a guy in that mall when the gunman came in and started shooting. This man had a CCW but, lawfully, left his gun in the car. He was 30 feet from the gunman and had a clear shot with no one behind the gunman to worry about. He could have taken this guy out and saved lives, but was not allowed.The gunman killed 8 wounded 5 and then killed himself. Law abiding citizens are not the problem, they are the solution.

yes I am admitting to breaking the law, no I don't care... that is why I carry in the mall anyway.. the only place I don't carry is in the police station, courthouse or bank... yet amazingly the bank should be the place too carry... it's amazing because the bank signs basically get law abiders to leave their guns in the car while the bank robbers come in locked and loaded.. you think the person who intends to rob a bank is going to say "gee whiz!.. this signs says no guns.." bank fail crime win

Their are businesses that pay good money to have armed guards in their businesses. China bans guns and violent media, but they have massacres, too. One of the deadliest school massacres in the world was done in China with a knife (a similar one in Japan the same way). Also, there was a surge of killings here with the surge of psychiatric druggings that Wall Street pushes. And before schools became "gun free zones" there was a lot less shootings than today.

You missed the point of weed & guns. Weed is illegal, but criminals still get it. If guns are illegal, criminals will still get guns.

Speaking of which, most of the gun murders are done over drugs like cocaine and meth. So why not make that illegal instead of the guns? Once meth and cocaine are gone, then people will stop shooting each other over it, right?

Another point. Banning ugns obviously has no impact on whether a criminal gets a gun. Convicted felons are already banned from having guns, yet they go out and get them with no trouble at all. In fact if you look at what it takes to get a gun in California, compaired to what it takes for a criminal to get one, the criminal has it a lot easier. Gun bans and restrictions only affect the people who obey the laws, not the criminals. to think otherwise is just naive
