I'm from a country that had the same issues though it was just a part of our land, specifically our capital, that was seen as the property of another country and they just took our precious capital in 1920 but, thank god, we got it back. And then we're seen as a sphere of influence from another country presently. But with Taiwan it seems so much worse and I feel honestly and extremely bad that China thinks Taiwan is just another part of it.

Japanese are using media to increase taiwan's support for independence. Americans also support taiwan's freedom. why? because japan and america hate china, partly because america is #1 and doesn't want to give up its position. and japan is right after china.
as for the tibet issue, tibet was always part of china and now they are rebelling? a great factor contributing to this is because america is behind it. we are using propaganda. Did anyone notice how the media gives special attention to people who are pro-tibet independence rather than those who are anti-iran war?

But Yao's family really love her (just a little angry about his leaving daughter but still like her), so he just can't really hit her...like a dillematic father
But after 1949, the large intake of RoC refugees diluted the population. Many were only one or two generations removed from mainland. So it is actually hard to say what percentage of taiwanese favors independence, what percentage favors reunification.
well, it does make some sense that the native taiwanese( native in a sense that they were already on the island when Taiwan was returned to China post WWII, even tho most of them were chinese emmigrants from 16th century. but too many generations have passed that they considered themselves to be independent.).
