@MortalAnonymous I know! I'm sick of kid's movies saying "NO WE CAN'T HAVE GAY PEOPLE THAT'S INAPPROPRIATE!". But yet for some reason they let two characters have sex? So they'd rather have children exposed to sex but not a gay couple?

@DoubleFoxTail: Preach it. I mean, sex is sex no matter what. Why should it matter the gender if they're going to have it in the film? Gays exist, and by shielding kids from them, it's not helping the image. Not to go off topic, but as a member of the gay community, I find it annoying that 'Gay/Lesbian' has to be its own category. I understand preferential reasoning, but it seems like the category was only added because gay was unheard of in early film.

@MortalAnonymous I know. The whole shielding kids from it makes it seem like an inappropriate horrible thing. If as children they understood the idea that love doesn't have to be between only a man and a woman, maybe they'd be more accepting of the idea when they grew up. As much as I love Disney and other 2D animation movies, I'm very disappointed I haven't seen one where there was a gay romance, and this could have been it.

@MortalAnonymous And about the genre thing, I think it's a unfair because it's kind of like labeling it 'Normal Romance' and 'Not Normal Romance'. Shouldn't all just be under romance?

@DoubleFoxTail: It's true. We'd lessen the hate a whole lot by introducing all types of romance at once. Kids are smarter than most think, and can easily recognize affection. If they were taught that all forms of this were ok, they wouldn't grow up to discriminate as much.

Exactly. There should be an umbrella romance label with sub-categories for personal preference. I just wish in the actual movies, they'd let both types exist. It's always all one or the other.

@MortalAnonymous Another thing is when there is a gay character or couple, it has to be a big deal. One of the reasons I really like British TV is because it's so mixed. In shows like Doctor Who they have gay characters/couples and no one cares, they treat them just the same as straight couples. Like they should! In American shows it's either a really huge thing or played for comedy.

@DoubleFoxTail: Right, that's what I was driving at. I love British TV for it's all-inclusive nature. Everything is ok or nothing is. In America, it's always a huge deal or included to show "we care about this issue! Look how sensitive we are!" Or, as you say, for comedy, which is sadly most cases. I love gay comedy, but seriously, it's not all hair products and glam!
