What is the proper etiquette that the "First Today" should have followed?

Either a horn signal or a radio call would have been nice for a slow pass. I don't think they realize how easy it is to injure people in sailboats and trawlers (sailboats with the mast weight are very vulnerable to wake).

Holy crap, my condo is walking distance from john's pass. its crazy to see you passing places i go every summer. we fish off what is left of the old sunshine skyways bridge, always good spanish mackeral off there.

Sarasota is a pretty city. I used to visit there when going to visit my grandparents. Florida is a truly beautiful tates.

is there anything that can be done about the speeding boats that wake you? provided substantial proof (such as the video tape you have) I would hope that there is some sort of agency that would levy a fine. that's just unbelievably reckless, disrespectful, and dangerous. as peoples morals and values decline, so does common courtesy for one another. it really angers me to see such disregard.
