Timber Mod only works if you use a vanilla axe [wood, stone, iron, gold, diamond]. That's why they weren't coming down when you hit the bottom.

Just a few suggestions ;)

'Get down with the trumpets!' Craft a full set of gold tools for teh lulz.

'Trophy Killer!' hunt every type of mob available to you! (mo's creatures and vanilla)

'Minerbeast!' mine every type of ore (including the nether ores and so on included in the ore mod'

'Efficiency!!' create a fully automatic diamond mine.

'Shake on that!' complete a trade with an NPC from Millenier mod.
