They've had the same engine since both models were introduced...but there are just minute powertrain differences here and there that separate them.

I have a 2003 350Z Performance Manual Model with no Mods whatsoever. I smoked the 2007 G35S from launch to 400m or nearly 1/4 mile by three four cars. We ran three times that night. The G35S was an automatic however. So, I don't think that the G35's are quicker than the 350Z.
