This raag is Sindhu Bhairavi in Carnatic music. Not a heavy weight in south. This is sung at the end of concerts in carnatic music. That said, I personally love this raga. I think it has got lot of depth. As to why it has been relegated to the background in carnatic, is beyond my understanding. Iam not a guru in classical music. Excellently rendered by Pt Jasraj. i'm not sure which raga, but it seems as if it's being sung in the hindustani style. after all, pt.jasraj is a master of hindustani, and kavitaji has been trained extensively in hindustani. the vocals sound hindustani, but it's interesting to have a violin accompany a north indian classical sound..

Kavita sang with a great classical artiste, she performed excellent.Her entry as AALAP was out-standing and the behaviour with the musical notes was EXACTLY as required. I reognized her face, no doubt, she is graet after Lata Ji & Aasha Ji. Thanks for your valuable information in thios regard.
