I can't work out what you tried to gain in this. The Audi in the outside lane had hung back to let the woman in the Corsa behind you overtake. By the looks of the angle, the woman in the Corsa was willing to give you plenty of room. But for reasons I can't work out, you are in the middle of the lane for most of this video.

For many drivers it's a primeval instinct. If they see a bike in front of them they just HAVE to be in front of it - even if there's a traffic jam ahead.

If the vehicle behind gets too close, DO NOT increase your speed - you won't leave it behind, and it just makes the driver think you can be pushed to go faster. Slow down to a speed at which they are capable of braking.

Part of it is the stress of driving. That car on high finance, depreciating at a great rate daily - far too many cars - petrol which for money already taxed at 20 percent is then 82 percent tax and 3 times what US motorists pay for gas - the whole unsatisfactory thing of motoring.

Just wanted to comment that, first of all, I feel drivers have a genuine ignorance on the dynamics of bikes riding on the streets, overtaking has a different perspective because it really feels a lot safer when you are inside a car... So I thought, wouldn't it be better to make it clear to drivers behind that it is unsafe to overtake by staying on the middle of the lane?

The cycle path is always a hazard when it is wet. It collects mud/leave/water etc. It's always a good test of the bikes brakes slowing down fast enough not to come a cropper!

There are often oil slicks at that junction. I have one video coming in a different direction where my bike wobbles there, probably on some old diesel.
